JUGGERNAUT® IN THE MAKING - jessedeann

Hafa Adai! I'm Jesse! A 28 year-old female (29 by the time the 12 weeks are up), originally from Kansas (no Dorothy is not my cousin and my dog's name isn't Toto). I have been living on the beautiful island of Guam since 2006. Sports and fitness is a HUGE part of my life. I have been an athlete since ever since; playing volleyball, basketball, track, softball and was on a swim team throughout my sports career. Don't get me wrong, I was also a band geek (played tenor sax for 10 years) and was on the Quiz Bowl team and forensics back in high school. Needless to say, I did as much as I could do and continue to do so. My mom stayed at home to raise me and my five siblings and my dad is a teacher/coach. They were strict on me while growing up and it helped shape who I am today. I'm very disciplined in pretty much everything I do. I have been a restaurant manager since 2009. I also write for a sports website and model sometimes. My fitness goals are to be as fit as I can be and push myself to my breaking point. I truly want to test my mind, body and soul, break past all barriers and stop holding myself back. I entered the Juggernaut contest to help push me to my max.

My game plan is to workout 5-6 days a week. I'm starting the contest with HIIT. I enjoy circuits and 'non-stop' workouts. I like to get in, work hard, and get out. I will do HIIT for the first 4 weeks and then move towards supersets and active resting. My cardio of choice is the stairmaster. I want to build my legs for sure. I'm 5'10", 135 pounds and lean muscle. I like my lean body, but want to build more muscle! My diet is already consistent but the next 12 weeks I am cutting alcohol completely out of my system as well as any sodas or sugars. I do like to have a beer or soda every once in a while. I am SO ready for this challenge. It's more personal than anything. I hope to win but as long as I do my best then either way I'm a winner. I'm just going to go HARD and not look back!

Today, August 13th, 2012 marks my FIRST day in the Juggernaut contest. I hit the gym with a new energy and excitement, and totally love the Juggernaut Pink Lemonade and Fruit Punch!! Mondays are LEGS/Core, which I absolutely love. I have a knee injury that I'm nursing, so I can't squat with as much weight as I want, but it's better than nothing! I did 2 circuits of squats, leg press, straight leg dead lifts, lunges, and calf raises. I will move up to 3-4 circuits next week. Afterwards, I did my core training with stability ball, which is killer! I don't even know what all the moves are called and I like to ad-lib as I go, but basically I put my feet on a stability ball and get into a plank position, bring my knees to my chest then back to a plank and then do a push-up, 15-20 reps. Immediately move into a 'jack-knife', bringing my hands as close to my feet as possible (feet are on stability ball) and then back to a plank position, 10-15 reps. Then I do 4 sets of 25 different kinds of sit-ups. That is one circuit. I do that three times. Then I stretch and drink my Infinite Labs Whey Protein Shake with BCAA's!

It was a great way to start day 1 and can't wait for tomorrow! I wish everyone the best and hope they all reach their personal fitness goals!

    Write soon!

Ohhhh, yeah I'll try a mix of both flavors! Perfect! Yeah, I've been writing on other logs but there are so many, it's hard to keep track of everyone! I was on the computer until 4am writing to people! haha! I love motivating others because in return, it motivates me! How are you doing on your fitness goals?!

Good ole Iowa, huh? Fellow Mid West friend! haha! So, who's your friend on Guam, I probably know him/her! haha! Guam is so small, but bigger than where I'm originally from. There are about 160,000 people here and my hometown in Kansas has about 800 and no stop light!
