Miscers who went to community college or at one GTFIH
I have ZERO friends in the small city I just moved to. I'm going to CC but the CC is actually located in a building at the huge well known state school in that city. I'm a very sociable person and all (0 approach anxiety), but I heard you don't make any friends at CC. True or not? Can't go bar hopping yet either, but I'm hoping because it's located inside the state school I shoudn't have a problem

community college is weird, because you'll see a completely different set of people every term, you get to spend time with each set for about 10-15wks depending on the school. so you may have enough time to get to know someone. this being said I have made zero friends while attending CC for two years. most peoples don't really want to know anyone because everyone is busy. I did however have several opportunities to smash. several female students, and even two of my teachers were mirin hard. will be transferring in the fall, maybe uni will be more conducive to friendships.

It's a little tougher but definitely not impossible for a bro with great social skills, just make small talk when you can and if they seem fun ask them to come out and study and have drinks afterwards.

Yeah I figured it'd be easier to pick up sloots than to make guy friends. And I'm pretty good with the socializing thing, hopefully It'll work out. Reps

CC is gay. You won't make any long lasting friends. People go there, do their work, and leave, period.

You can make friends, but I didn't run across too many people who I actually wanted to hang out with.

It was alright as far as socialness goes. I made a few friends, rarely talk with any of them though. It's very business like, and even being outgoing usually won't get you anywhere since often it's people on the fringes of society/immigrants (at least my school).
I kept in touch with a few girls, saw them a little bit outside of school, but it's really just not the best place for making friends - not to say it's not impossible. I'd look into clubs/sports teams if your school has them. I noticed some decent looking girls at a fitness class while I was at the CC gym, and one of them invited me to a casual weekly soccer/kickball game league. A lot of the dudes are weird, but there will be some cool guys. Just give everyone a chance and keep your head up OP.

A lot of people hate on community college but I've had an awesome time there. When I was in high school I was the quarterback of the football team and probably could've gotten a scholarship to a state school until I got injured my senior year. Since my grades weren't very good my only option was community college. On the first day I joined a spanish study group, which is where I met the people I'd call my best friends for the next few years. We're sort of an odd mixture; There's me, my best friend who's an eccentric film nerd, a cute and smart but impressionable brunette girl, a washed up lawyer who's kind of a douche, a hot feminist who's pretty phucking annoying, a religious single mom, and an old racist guy. We get into all kinds of shenanigans like school-wide paintball fights, and my best friend and I build blanket forts and host our own morning tv show. Overall, I'd say community college is pretty sweet.

Aware.
And OP I fell ya brah, I moved away from my hometown and went to a CC where I didn't know anyone. Never really made friends nor I didn't want to, just went in did my work and left. However you should just hangout around the library at the Uni since its close by and cold approach people there. That's what I would have don't but my CC was in the heart of Orange County's suburbia

CC can be fun if you want it to be. I went to a CC my first two years and made plenty of friends. I went and got a job at the mall and the gym and that pretty much put me in a place to meet people. And at school I just took part in every activity that interested me. School is really what you make of it, and if you want it to be fun then you have to make it be fun. Do your time and transfer to somewhere you really want to go.
