They wanted almost full price for the bench but thanks to a typo in a previous email they honored the lower price so worked out good for me. I'm a big fan of the mag grip I felt it a lot more in my back and less in my biceps doing a quick workout tonight to try it out.

Wow good job on some great deals... The cheapest I found the #3136 was $1400 shipped... Some companies quoted as high as around $1700 ish. After shipping. Wished I lived closer to the "Mech-a" of equipment manufactures lol

I'm dumbfounded!!! That's awesome 100 pounder's even if used sell for near or new price ranges on the west coast... At least that's been my experience...

I got a Body Masters tricep extension and seated dip... heavy duty T-Bar row that I grabbed for one of my best deals ever at $80.00. It has 3 knurled handle options, close grip neutral row, straight bar wide grip and then a nice medium angle grip. Big footplates, pillow block bearings, and 2"x2" for the bar arm itself! As usual with Body Masters it is super smooth. I couldn't help myself, it was a great deal and I had to jump on it. I also received my Strive handles they make for there Functional Trainer. They are like the MAG grip in that you use your palms and it takes pressure of of your grip strength being the limiting factor. I can actually go a bit heavier then with regular handles when USING STRAPS, so my opinion is they work very well. I have used them on my dual Iso lat pulldown and my FT trying various wide grip pulldowns and rows. I can't wait to try them when I finish up my dual ISO low row add on piece, I will update that soon in its own thread

Congrats on all of the great finds! Those are nice looking pieces of machinery Your T-Bar Row looks bad@$$! I really like all the features that it has... Function and build (except your T-bar has the V handles which the Legend does not) appears to be similar to the T-Bar offered by Legend. Seeing your T-bar makes me want the Legend model even more LOL Your gym is sweet looking.

I'd like a pair of hundreds but man they really suck to move around. We were lifting in a garage one time and the temperature change from the weather had all the plates sweating/condensation water. It was crazy. We were loading 100s and decided to stop, changing the entire workout due to them getting slick every time.

Yes indeed... 100 pounders suck to move around;even when they are bone dry they suck LOL But I'd still buy some if I found a good deal on them.

Thanks, the 3136 wasn't even part of their inventory sale I ordered it 8 weeks ago but a piece its size and weight shipping cost I'm assuming must be high on it. It was only about a 2.5 hour ride to them so it was definitely worth the savings to pick it up!

Afaik, they are. Still have to pick em up, but I know the equipment isn't more than five years old so, I'm 99% sure it is the heavy duty stuff. Probably get it Thursday. $66 for both after fees and taxes, granted I have to make the bench pads.

With all of the flipping you do you should look into purchasing your own blast cabinet. You could probably find a good industrial one for a good price at auction. It sure would speed up your work with those hundos. Except for getting them in and out of it.

With the way my business is currently I do almost no refurbishing. I mess with new vinyl and cleaning things up, but for now the time investment or cost to refurbish stuff doesn't translate into more profit for me. Eventually stuff like that may be part of my business but I will wait until I move into my own building and slowly add more and more parts to the business.

It may not translate into more profit, but a slight bit less time on each piece vs other technique, sure a minute or 2 less per piece isn't a difference, but with the big scale you're at it will shave alot of time. But I think when you move into a new building, getting these machines is a better plan. I guess all I can say is you and me are different, so I can't speak on terms of what would be best for you (but seemingly what would work for me. I refurb the majority of the pieces I get, Upholstery and paint/rust, but you're on a bigger scale then me, which would make sense to not do a complete refurb on everything. These are the main differences between us.

All I can say is, I love the way you deal equipment like me, and I DEFINITELY LOVE that recent pickup of yours...well I know I'm speaking for alot of us here. Good Luck with you're 11 ton plate refurb/selling and let us know how many plates you actually decide to keep. I know you said about 8-10, but with 220 plates I can only assume you'd keep more.

from what i've heard, sandblasting plates isn't a great idea as it will often knock out any foundry putty put in place to correct for rough castings. so whatever time you save is then spent filling in all the stuff that got knocked out.

Ive sandblasted quite a few of the cheaper cap plates that people use for building dumbbells. I havent noticed any such thing. Maybe ive just been lucky?

i'm just passing on stuff i've read, maybe it's not an issue at all.

i've noticed a couple of my older plates and my York globes have some flaws and stuff that might have been filled with putty originally, but i dunno.

Jumped on that Legend Fitness Sale recently. I tried to buy all of the bars they had which was about 10 and then the Varsity reverse hyper for my gym. By the time the order went in there were only 5 bars left. I got the hyper built and into my gym tonight and it's really nice and has a small footprint.

Love those chrome ivanko plates! I personally have a full set myself minus the hundo's and love benching with them on my ivanko stainless steel bar, makes me feel like the silver surfer.

Very Nice Hyper! This is getting added to my list of stuff I want, people tell me all the time how good a reverse hyper is, and I had never though of it as an "ideal" piece of equipment

Also Very nice Model E, how do you like it? Is it comfortable or different feeling to a model D (assumming you've used one before).

DAM! 7g 3x3!!!!! Thats some solid stuff, do the post adjust up and down to where the bar goes? Or are are they just welded at that height? Looks like some sort of knob the back, but I can't really tell.

They're adjustable with a second knob to tighten the post in place.

From this weekend, 6-45's and an Ivanko OB-20kg bar. I'd emailed and spoken to Ivan, who says the black oxide had just worn off.

I was doing a bit of research and found that there's a good chance of destroying the end caps if you try to remove them -- so with the sleeves on, what would you do to clean the bar up a little bit? Not that I mind the patina -- I've just taken to it with a nylon wire brush to try and get some chalk off the knurling.

Just take the end caps off. As long as you don't do it often you should be fine. I used a chisel and a hammer with a moderate hit. My caps don't work anymore because I continuously took them off and put them on...a one time thing should be fine.

A wire brush and some 3n1 should take off the chalk and maybe some patina...unless you want to do what I did, which was vinegar, sprite, or cola bath...total restore.
