eh its not a big deal. i mainly wanted 25 pound plates. i'm going to do the tibia mod and i need 10 more to do a full 10 on each side. i can't lift that (2 on each side is challenging LOL) but i want to be ready . plus my hand grip machine and calf machine are best with 25 pound plates (hand grip machine only takes 25 pound max size plates).
besides the guy said someone was coming after me that day and if they didn't show he wouldn't hold them for me. he did only want $0.30 a pound. its only 4 days till i get paid. if he still has them i'll get the rest, if not oh well. i believe i did get the 2.5 pound hampton plates he had. at least i need to look closer first. i thought he had 1.25 pound olympic plates which is what i wanted but he had it listed wrong, only for standard. my friend uses standard plates so i got him some .

It's a shame you're so far away, man. I have two Hampton 25's and two 10's that don't match the rest of my plates. I'd gladly trade them for an equal quantity of CAP 25's and 10's.
I actually segregated my oddball plates and put them on a tree of their own next to my preacher curl bench. They made my other plate trees look disorganized."What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us." - Ralph Waldo Emerson

^^^Yep mate,I have 2 x 20's I got a while back, and some odd light plates.I got a scale for $5 last week and took it to the Railway to calibrate and it was spot on.So I weighed all my iron plates today and added to 462!!
I feel like such a grown up now I don't use plastic.
EDIT: The guy I bought them from just got an economy bumper set from Iron Edge here.Pretty good quality gear.
The bastard.Last edited by pvsampson; 03-28-2013 at 03:57 AM.

Over here there are well known dept. stores that sell a bench with 50kg plastic sets for $110.They are everywhere on second hand sites, and any iron plates sell for a premium. The original price for the plates I got today was $350,and I asked him what his minimum was.New standards with a correct bore,in my area, are $59 for 20kg and $45 for 10kg.7ft crap bar for $70. KMart sell cheap plates,$39 20kg, but the bore is only 26mm and don't fit any bloody bars!
There are good deals online for STD. and OLY.,but freight is a huge cost.

650 pounds of York
Fella posted some weights and bench on Craigslist. He didn't say what they were but I saw milling marks in the photo. The 45's, 35's, half of the 25's, 10's and 5's are milled. Came with two oly bars, a pair of oly db bars, the weight tree and the standard stuff in the photo. Couldn't fit the bench in the jeep and it wasn't anything I wanted. I'm happy.

You need a good rack, a bench, and a 300-lb Olympic weight set. Now, what was your question?

Screws. Seller said his father brought the York stuff upstate when he moved from Brooklyn fifty years ago. I don't think he knew what he had. Last night I asked him what plates were oly and what were standard. He replied he didn't think any of them were alloy they were all steel.

May I suggest posting better pics in the York thread. BoHo may smile upon you. . .

Those DB's are pure sex. I don't know if it's just due to my location but I've never seen any prostyle yorks (or even troys) in person. Heck the only ivanko pro styles I've seen are the ones I own.

Lovin the belt claric. Is that a 13mm?
GI, you have an excellent sense of style when it comes to interior decor.. Why paint walls when you can cover them in bars?[̲̅$̲̅(̲̅ ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°̲̅)̲̅$̲̅] Equipment Crew #57 [̲̅$̲̅(̲̅ ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°̲̅)̲̅$̲̅]

No, I grabbed the 10mm for now.
I am mainly training my deadlift for my first PL coming up (doing pull only) and when I get into manly squat numbers, I will probably spring for the 13mm. I've heard a lot of people say it's pretty dang stiff to DL with the 13mm.I am going to die under a heavy barbell one day and it's going to be f*cking awesome--HamburgerTrain

I'm also drooling over the welded pro-styles. What are your thoughts about the ez bar? Is it a genuine split sleeve? If I recall correctly, you had mentioned some bar that had a groove but was not a true split sleeve. Which bar was that? How are the rubber grip on the ez bar?

I bought them from york in Canada. I know that in the past there was york fitness in canada and york barbell in USA but now it is all the same brand: york barbell. A lot of the iron plates and iron dumbbells are made in Ontario, Canada and sold in the whole America but i dont know about these pro style welded dumbbells. I know it was a special order that they now have in their product line in Canada but i dont know if it is the same in the US? Sorry i can not help you more. Maybe ask Allison Foreman for them, maybe they are not in the catalog but she could maybe order them. And as for the price, i paid near 3800$ for 10-150 in 10 pounds increments.
