I agree. I bought 1st Generation Nautilus Pullover and left it as it's.
He was helpful in explaining what and how he did his restoration.

I was outfitting a gym today and they were upgrading to York Olympic plates. They had a bunch of old York and Real McCoy standard plates that they wanted to get rid of. I took about 370lbs of the 10's and under and gave them $25 (There were likely a few thousand of 20-50's left), but I wanted took these with dumbbells in mind. I'm not sure what the hell I'll do with them.

Thats a pretty sweet deal for 25$ GI... Even if you dont end up using them for DB's, you will make more by selling them on ebay
Finally out of spread and repped...!!!()---() York Barbell Club #24 ()---()

Picked this up a couple months ago, it was in pretty sad shape. Did a bearing conversion and refurb job, turned out pretty good.

The original Nautilus machines came with bushings anywhere there was a movement arm, sprocket, or cam. You can replace with same diameter needle bearings and it makes for silky smooth movement. The 1st gen double shoulder has 24 total.

I got one of these also, my lat raise is pretty smooth, but the shoulder press has a lot of friction. Does this conversion smooth out the shoulder press as well? If it's not too much trouble, could you send a PM with what bearings you used and where you got them? Thanks.
Now OK for Sig line to be a novel

To be honest I didn't notice much of an improvement on the press. Mainly I think this is due to the design of the press itself. It's hard to get it operating smooth with the rollers in place that guide it. I have heard of people putting some type of linear bearings on the press bar, but I'm the wrong person to get information from on that. Overall it took around 35 feet of 40 roller chain, 20 needle bearings of a small size, and 4 needle bearings of a larger size. The larger ones go in the lateral raise movement arms. I will have to dig up the size numbers, I will send you a pm when I get them.
