If I could've found a minivan that was capable of towing a camper as well as a full size truck, I definitely would've considered it. There's something to be said for being able to transport equipment in the rain, or stop at a store/restaurant on the way home from a score without worrying about some asshat(s) swiping your stuff."What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us." - Ralph Waldo Emerson

Edit- Looked at my USAPL rule book and I need a pair of 2.5kg (each) collars. Need them to be under $60, do these look alright? Any recommendations?

Not currently. I'd be interested in how they're being shipped to you. Shipping can be very expensive per pound. I think around 700 lbs is the sweet spot for freight. Are they shipping freight or several Fedex/UPS and USPS packages?
edit: Got any deep dish York plates that you want to send me??Last edited by morebarbell; 07-24-2014 at 04:32 PM.

Here they went for $79.99 plus $14.50

I think $20 is a bit lower than what I've seen. The market is a bit dead right now. It's partly because it's summer and partly because a couple yokels posted auctions with no reserve when the market is dead. It's not even worth selling for $20... that would be like $16 after ebay/paypal fees... probably less since ebay takes a cut of shipping as well.Last edited by morebarbell; 07-24-2014 at 05:59 PM.

Are you getting a full set of calibrated plates, too? A competition bench setup? There's a big difference between getting a bar you could be using or a bench that is the same height as competing specs and making every training session identical to a meet environment. Many very strong people get strong with the bare minimum equipment, cheap CAP plates, an ancient bar, and a home welded rack with 5" hole spacing. I believe you're missing the first for the trees.

Ah... California, home of Ivanko. I think I know the ad that you're talking about. That guy might have better luck selling if he replied to emails. I offered to buy them all if he'd ship and he never replied. Maybe he just won't ship but collars aren't exactly difficult to ship. I found some elsewhere though.

Eventually yeah I would like to get calibrated plates and a comp bench set up. The equipment I am getting is going to be basically what I'm using in my comps. Same bar, same bench height, etc. Eventually I would like to upgrade to the Ivanko plates and a competition bench I will use in meets but for now the regular old cap plates and my bench won't make much of a difference. I know you can get strong without getting that stuff, but it certainly doesn't hurt and its a fun hobby. Using the same weight collars I will in a meet is just one less thing I have to factor in to my training.

Found a pretty good deal and it was even local ( only an hour away). I got 55 -100 hex DB's for $250. If I added the weight correctly it came to 1550lbs, so about .16/lb. Now to clean them up.
Now OK for Sig line to be a novel
