If all goes well, everyone walks away with pr's...the only real name of the game save, we tried, trained and competed together, as a team. Nothing, regardless of goal, regardless of success or failure can take that away. My most cherished things in the gym are the people I go to battle with every day. Our biggest commodity is our team, each other.
You are never owned, you are guided at best by me. I have the capacity to lead people off the cliff with me but, today, it's wisdom the I have acquired through many mistakes in the past and even in the last week with another one of my pupils. It's never too late, too old to learn. Remember, we are training for all the meets you will ever do. This is just a meet to do two things, get a total and to arrive at a new point A. Give it no more power or influence other than what it truly is.

Still not feeling 100%. This cold has been brutal. One day I feel like I'm getting better and the next it feels like I'm getting sick again. Taking lots of vitamins. Trying to get more sleep but life is in the way right now. I'm worn out right now.

Haven't lifted since last Tuesday. Ended up going to the doc and having walking pneumonia. Yay. Started antibiotics and while I'm finally feeling better I feel not so explosive in the gym. I fear the lack of work trying to pace myself the last couple of weeks may have rendered me a bit if a twat.
We shall see.

I had a great time at the meet and can't wait for the next! This was my first time competing in a sport since I walked away from BJJ comp in 2007. It was more fun by far and a better atmosphere than my former endeavors.
I went 8/9 in the day and had 3 pr's in doing so. I would have had a 390 bench except for the fact I got extremely out of pocket with the 380 and it took more out of me than I had planned. Wade called a great meet in regards to the numbers for me. I didn't think coming into the day I would total much more than 1300, and I came out with 100 pounds more than planned. SPF deserves some props for running a great meet considering it was a packed house.
Big thanks to my teammates Josh, Melissa, Matt and ofcourse Spit for their help and taking care if me and making sure I had everything I needed. BIG THANKS to Coach Wade for believing in me when I didn't since I almost pulled out if this meet because I was sick for te past month.
Anyways here are the numbers for the day and if Spit has the time I'm sure he will embed here so attempts can be seen.
Squat:
425
480
520 55# PR
All whites for lifts
Bench:
350 all whites
380 all whites 5# PR
390 all fail lol
Deads:
425 all whites
465 all whites
500 all whites 45# PR
1400 total and 1st in my class in rawwwww subs.

Warmed up and then decided that would be about it:
Flat dumbell press:
25x30x3
30x30x2
Wide grip hammer row:
12x3 all less than 200#
Hammer shrugs:
275x12x3
Hammer curls:
25x12x3
Face pulls:
15x3
Done.
Right pec felt very funky today when I started to warm up for bench. Finished with some static stretching.
I've got a case of the first meet hangover I reckon. My body is shot.

Still a little fatigued from the meet in the hips today, but I'm driven by new numbers for the next meet so it was good to get moving again. This cycles numbers will pick up pretty quick due to the shorter cycle.
If anybody reads this remember. You gotta get in to get off.Last edited by WhiteKimbo; 02-08-2013 at 07:53 AM.

We will stick with the pony we rode the pr on. You need the rest and protect the pec since you got it worked on. Next week, back to close grip inclines...2 weeks on, 1 off, the 1 off will be FB bar.

Will probably have to adjust from the FB bar to close grip flat due to that being te source of the initial pec injury.
Lol. I have not forgotten the decline either, but considering the elbow issue I had after my day shooting I don't forsee it in the near future. The same things continue to aggravate it. The nerve is not healed. Sucks but the bench moves forward regardless so that's the positive.

Before we do any self prognosis, let's try and see. I only need a triple with 135 on the decline so see. We will see with the FB bar. It may not be a big deal. Holding a weight out, even a gun, could aggravate it where on your back and that area supported, weight might not be an issue and, we won't know until you put a small load on it and see. Either way, the bench is moving and that's been done in the adjustments so, we will continueon that path.
