Madcows, the way I see it, your body needs time to recover. You don't gain muscle while working out, you gain it after working out, during the rest.

How do you define "lift." I train 4 days a week split between max effort squat/dealifting training, max effort bench training, dynamic effort squat/deadlift training, and dynamic effort bench training. The other 3 days a week I'm doing GPP and prehab/rehab work. So, depending how you classify this I either "lift" 4 days a week or 7.

I train 6 days a week, heavy, high (volume 30 sets+) the more you eat and train the stronger your going to get. Overtraining is a myth, it does exsist but it is not a bad thing.
Also your body is clever and will adapt to the stress that is but on it.

3-4 days a week. I try to do 4, but I work rotating shifts, and my gym closes early on weekends, so sometimes it ends up only being 2 or 3 times. Ideally I'd go:
Monday: Bench
Tuesday: Squat
Thursday: Bench
Friday: SquatBest Sanctioned Lifts (USPA/USAPL):

Best Gym Lifts:

3 days is good
[QUOTE=Jericoe;930831973]Right now im following madcows so im lifting 3 days a week. Every time i see someone stronger then me say they train 5-7 days a week it makes me feel like i dont lift enough, but my main goal is strength. So how many days a week do you guys lift?
I'm doing Madcow intermediate as well.
I'm lifting 5 days a week and hitting calves, upper traps, forearms, and neck on non-madcow days because those are really the only body parts that really aren't hit by the exercises in the program.
I feel like 3 days a week is enough though due to CNS fatigue and the fact that you'll be hitting PRs every week after week 4.Squat: 395 lbs
Bench: 290 lbs
Deadlift: 500 lbs

I do 4 days and do mad cows 5x5. I split the Monday session up into a squat day and a bench/row day. This gives me time on these days to do all my accessory stuff i wouldn't otherwise get done.
