When I get back to training on Tuesday I will be increasing calories to 3000 (from 2900)....over the past month I've gradually increased calories (and tracked weight gain) from 2700 to 2900 (1.2lb gain in a month and 1.2lb gain in 2 weeks) and the ideal amount is probably 3000-3050 a day.
3000 cal bulking diet at 127lbs....Mach 3 turbo metabolism?

But once I stop training/watching what I eat, in 6 months I can easily go from 12% up to 18% cause when I do Id eat junk/take out a lot and do no form of exercise. So crazy fast metabolism when training/tracking macros and calories - add fat without that. But who knows, I could be eating 3k or minimal protein when I wasn't training.

Idk what's going on with my lifting. I've been lifting heavy for PRs for the past 7 weeks....first 4 I wasn't eating enough and only gained a lb in a month. Strength increased a little. Increased calories 200 more and for 2 weeks strength shot up fast. Then I got sick...took 4 days off and got back to lifting.
This past week has sucked. I look a lot smaller, am down 1.4lb (legit, not scale fluctuation), feel unmotivated and burned out in the gym, strength is slowly regressing despite me eating even more food and I could only do almost half my upper body workout volume today...not even half. Then I felt burned out and went home.
Do I need a deload badly? How do I fix this and prevent this from happening again?
I got bigger...gained strength....now it's just boom gone and I feel weak/no energy even with caffeine.

Was gonna say try taking week off but reread ur post and see u already just took 4 days after being sick, if this was ur first workout after being sick just don't sweat it bro, u will come back, prob just still feeling kinda weak and out of it from being sick, try just going kinda light for the next week and don't worry about how heavy/intense u r lifting, let ur body heal. U will come back, all lifters have a little slump now and then specially after being sick and sometimes just off day. Also if its been awhile since u changed up your routine change it up, different exercises, different split etc.
Btw r u sure u r really only 127 in your avi? look heavier than that even tho lean, srs, gjdm💪🏻Team Manlet💪🏻

@redsox and proudmanlet:
Thanks for the replies, they help. This is my third day back at the gym and the amount of volume I can do has decreased more after each day I went. So I've been back from the 4 days off for more like 5 days (1 day on 1 off 1 on 1 off 1 on and one more tomorrow) and still regressing.
I train each muscle group twice a week so yes frequency is there. Sleep has been between 6-8 hrs depending on the night. I've been lifting heavy without a deload for 7 weeks...that could be the cause?
I've been eating 2900-3000 cals a day the past 3 weeks. 2 weeks ago I was gaining 1.3lb every 2 weeks off 2900 cals.
Right now I feel burned out more than anything, does that mean its time to deload then?
@proudmanlet:
I was 129 maybe 130 in that pic at 10%. That's the biggest I've ever gotten, never bigger than 131 (cause i stopped lifting after 3 months bulking last time). I'm 127 now at 12%. DB flat bench was a week ago: 75x5/DB row 85x6/Deadlift 285x7/military press 90x7.
You are right about lifting a bit lighter, my plan is to ramp up the weights/deload. Deload back to 80% of current best lifts for a week then 90% for week 2 and then try to get back to normal levels again/push past them once those 2 weeks are up and my CNS body heals. Then back cycle/deload again after every 5-6 weeks of pushing for PRs/lifting heavy.
Or I can lift heavy/push for PRs for 3 weeks, deload 1, push for 3 weeks, deload 1. I think that's how 5/3/1 outlines it to prevent burning out/plateauing. Which do you think is better?
That's the plan outlined in Lyle McDonald's generic bulk routine (heavy 6 weeks/ deload 2 weeks) which is the one I'm doingLast edited by JRemix; 02-02-2013 at 10:21 PM.

Yep you're right, the cold+the fact I've been pushing hard (and stupidly training to failure a lot) the past 7 weeks means its time to deload. A 2 week deload with one week lifting at 80% of best (ie if 100x6 is your best on a given lift you lift 80x6) and a second week at 90% of best should have me recooperated and back to gaining muscle again in 2 weeks.
I'll start doing 5-6 weeks pushing for gains/2 week deload from now on and not go past that. Do you think part of why I am feeling burned out is the constant training to failure (instead of stopping 1 rep short of failure/keeping 1 more rep in the tank - instead of doing that I'd grind out a final rep that I almost fail on until I grind it out with all I got)?
