Happy Diwali to my brownies out there. Today was pretty nice; just enjoying with family with lots of bright lights and food (Diwali= Festival of Light). Indian desserts are so decadent..! If you guys haven't had 'mithai' (pretty much means Indian sweets), go to a local Indian sweet shop and give them a try.
Deadlifts tomorrow! Very excited to lift. In the mean time... I'm going to catch up on foam rolling before I go to bed.
Hot Italian Sausages w/ Seared Chicken, Chili Garlic Broccoli, Tomatoes, & Pimiento Stuffed Olives
Pumpkin Saffron and Cardamom Halwa w/ Indian Desserts: Kesar Peda, Rasgulla & Ladoo Macros: Not completely sure but definitely around ~80g fat and easily over 1.6k calories.

aw man I've actually celebrated diwali once with one of my friends who's from India. His mom's cooking was awesome, and she pretty much expected everyone to eat everything. I obliged

LOL. That's the Indian way. Indian families will offer you and offer you food and snacks until you accept.

Deadlifts felt pretty solid. Back was not really rounding, but there is always more room for improvement with regards to form. I was actually a bit lightheaded after my first two sets lol... Finally got 3x5 on OHP and Pendlay rows; it's about time I increase the weight.
I also made a cake for dessert which came out delicious and packed with seasonal flavor.
Food
Balsamic Sweet Potato Rum Raisin Cake w/ Cinnamon Buttercream & Caramelized Pears Spice cake on the outside, a sweet potato pie filling inside, raisins scattered throughout, and a hint of rum/balsamic flavor. Complemented with thick cinnamon buttercream and caramelized pears.

Also, what did you use to make the broth for your stew? Tempted to try.
Chicken broth, salt, spices (thyme, oregano, dill, basil, black pepper).
Just let chicken and seasoned vegetables cook together in the broth and bam: perfect, filling meal for a cold night.
Thursday 11/22/12
Happy Thanksgiving to you guys. I hope you and your families enjoyed together. Thanksgiving is not only great because of the food, but also because of the great sense of appreciation everybody has. Should be like that everyday, but hey, we don't live in a utopia haha.
Basically today I trained before I headed to my relatives' house to see the family and eat. I made two sweet potato pies with my mom and sister (one with a spiced granola crumble topping and the other plain just in case people don't like the crumbly topping). The relatives really liked the pies. I ate a lot over there; my family sure knows how to cook. I didn't really take pictures of my feast because that's just weird when family and friends are around; too busy socializing as well. I wouldn't be surprised if I hit 6K calories though. Whatever, as long as I enjoyed myself with my family, it's all good.
Deadlifts felt strong today. Didn't want to go for a 4th rep on my top set because I rather have 3 reps with nice form than 3 decent reps + 1 ****ty rep. I did some extra sets of deadlifts because I felt like it... That's probably why I was fatigued and my OHP suffered a little bit with small weight bump.
By the way, I'm writing this on Friday! I apologize for the belated updates I've been writing. Just not able to find time on the same day. Today I'm going to finish up some college essays, go bowling with my friends and cousins, do some foam rolling, and get some rest for tomorrow's squats and bench press!
Thank you for following.

Diggin the pies! At first glance, I thought that one bowl had ping pong balls in it. Turns out they were truffles... lol
haha wow they do look like ping pong balls. I love truffles and ping pong both though haha.
Saturday 11/24/12-Thursday 11/26/12
I need to get a lot more sleep lol. A good friend of mine who is a nutritionist/lifting coach (not mine) showed me an article because we were discussing my partial insomnia and its potential effects on my strength training and health in general. For those of you who don't get enough sleep, I recommend you read this and try to get more sleep like I should!: http://examine.com/faq/how-important-is-sleep.html
I had a little house party the Saturday after Thanksgiving (yes... lots of eating this week) and a lot of my family friends and cousins came over. The adults were gambling with cards and we were watching a scary movie (Intruders) and were just eating a bunch. Mom made some awesome appetizers like ricotta stuffed mushrooms, phyllo wrapped butter asparagus, Indian food like butter chicken, kebab, and also some homemade chocolate raspberry cake and sweet potato pie that our family made.
My lifts on Saturday felt pretty good. I finally got some good reps with 135 lb. I heard that weight starts to increase much faster once one gets past the 135 barrier! I hope so haha. Tomorrow (Tuesday) I have squats again after two days of rest. I will get that 6th rep I really should have gone for on Saturday with 180 lb!
Training
Food
Curried BBQ Chicken over 6 Cups Basmati Rice w/ Broccoli
Cheesecake, Sweet Potato Pie, Chocolate Coconut Macaroons, & Soft Serve Cinnamon Ice Cream Some treats I made with my family. Probably an underestimation, but ~200C/~80F/~40P

Are you still IF'ing with 2 meals a day and at what times do you usually eat your meals during the day?
Do you always cook for yourself at home or occasionally eat meals cooked with your family or eat out?

I IF and eat 2 meals usually, but I also eat with family (home cooked or restaurant) often. Sometimes every day I cook for myself, sometimes every other day with family, sometimes once a week with family/friends, sometimes every day. Just depends if I'm in mood.

Squats felt great yesterday. I'm increasing the weight to 185 lb. for my next squat session on Saturday. Should be fun. Unfortunately, I had to skip dips today for the sake of time to do some after school stuff and college essays. Doesn't matter though, I was shot from bench press anyway. First time benching 140 lb. on my top set, so wasn't fantastic, but I wasn't expecting great numbers anyways since I only had 2 days rest since last bench press session.
NBA games tonight were mostly blowouts LOL. I'm happy the Knicks owned the Bucks. Brooklyn is certainly tearing it up. Bulls killed, Grizzlies won by a lot, and so did the Pistons (lol Pistons!) I'm just kind of shocked at how not close these scores were:
Are people in NY actually pulling for Brookly already?
Or is it regional (kinda like how Queens are for Mets but mostly every1 else is Yanks)?
Brooklyn folks are very happy about it because they finally have a team representing their borough. I wouldn't call them front runners because I think they are genuinely proud of being represented in the big sports world.
BUT, a lot of the former Long Island Jewish Nets fans that abandoned the Nets during their long slump have now come back. Now THEY are front-runners hahaha.
Barclay's Center is very beautiful though. I passed by it a few times and might try to work at a real estate company across the street from there.

Thanks for reminding me of the grizz raping us...nbd.
Your bench seems to be progressing real quick (at least compared to me )
Brownies look awesome, if only the blackberries and pomegranate icecream were subbed with blueberries and any non fruit icecream that isn't banana. THEN we're talking. Yeah I'm picky.

Haha yeah Grizzlies kinda raped you guys.
I hope my bench keeps steadily increasing at this rate! You are much more advanced than I am so I'm not surprised your bench will improve a lot more slowly.
Thanks. Brownies were so delicious. BTW, the ice cream is blueberry and pomegranate not blackberry and pomegranate.

I meant I'd sub the blackberries themselves for blueberries. As for the icecream I meant I'd go for any non fruit flavor outside of banana
