    Is it important to eat first thing when you wake up in the morning?

    In talk of weight loss/trying to reduce body fat % is it really necessary to eat first thing in the morning to "boost your metabolism"? In the mornings I'm not even hungry so I have to force myself to eat. I'd rather wait a few hours to eat but I wasn't sure how important this myth is.

    Thoughts/opinions?

    I'd love to debate bro-science with you, but honestly, I suggest eating a solid breakfast if you are not already...You will feel the change very quickly..

    Haven't you heard before that breakfast is the most important meal of the day? Personally breakfast gives you the energy to begin your day.

    bro-science says eat as soon as you wake up to kick your metabolism into gear, but id say listening to your body is much more important. If you aren't hungry, dont eat. Pre and post workout meals I'd say are the most important meals of the day.

    Personally, I am starving when I wake up and couldn't imagine eating 3 hours after I wake up. I need something within the hour

    its all about how your body reacts. theres not right or wrong. everybody is different. Try different methods and see which is best for you. But make sure your pre and post workout meals are solid. those tend to be the most important.

    I'll tell you what OP;

    If I wake up and I'm hungry, I eat. If I wake up and I'm not hungry, I don't eat.

    Pretty startling huh? I know people are wondering how the hell do I even follow a diet that way....

    I guess everybody is different, but after going 8-9 hours without a meal, I prefer to have a well balanced meal upon waking, my breakfast is also my pre workout meal so its very important to me.

    It's a personal choice really.

    I like to eat a big breakfast, medium lunch and small dinner + 2 small snacks.

    It all boils down to the individual really.
