Need a bit of this for being a real bodybuilder otherwise you won't be super picky about bringing up lagging bodyparts. You shouldn't think of yourself as too small, but rather lacking in specific muscle areas. I know that I have already achieved more than the average person by stepping on stage, but now I see bodybuilding as a pursuit of fine-tuning my physique and becoming bigger and more balanced. Especially since I have not reached my genetic potential as a natural bodybuilder by any means.
If you don't have at least a little bit of Dysmorphic disorder or NPD (narcissistic personality disorder), you are probably not a hardcore bodybuilder in my opinion.

So much feels in this thread. Before I Misc'd I never had any of this paranoia. I was home this past week visiting family. Ran into some friends I haven't seen in about a year. I've added about 17-20lbs of lean mass in that time and some of my friends were like "holy fuk man...been hitting the gym?"....I'm like "I don't even look like I lift *******". lmao. feelsbadman.

Know these feels actually, i used to be the skinniest guy imaginable before working out, over 6 feet and probably around about 120lbs. When i first got some noticeable size and people noticed i got all the '**** man you been hitting the gym' and 'flex for me brah' and all the compliments like that. Actually made me feel bad for some reason because i knew i still looked so average. I don't know it's weird, its like you just can't believe other peoples compliments are the truth. I always just think yeah you only think im big because you don't know what big really is.
But brah at 5'9 184lbs you're doing pretty damn good. Give yourself some credit"If our brains were simple enough for us to easily understand, we would be so simple that we couldn't understand them"

Thanks brah. I am really happy with my progress aesthetically but judging from my progress of the last year or so I know it'll take me at least another two before I get to where I want to be. I guess knowing that I'm that far from my goal, it seems hard to fathom that normal people might think I look big now. My arms are only 15.5"s at about 13% bf. So definitely not "big" by Misc standards.

I do. Most lifters will have this disorder. I could get insanely massive and still feel small.
brb forever seeing myself as small
edit:
brb finally getting rid of this devil. I would measure every muscle everyday and if it was smaller than the last time i would flip out.

Don't think i'll ever get over it completely but i've definitely come a long way.
Last year i got sick and lost around 40 pounds. Most depressed i've ever been, remember just scratching my arms till they were raw + bloody and going into rage mode and breaking my furniture out of frustration. Affected all aspects of my life, completely withdrew from everyone and my whole life suffered.
Now after coming through that i can't see it ever getting that bad again. Still not great but i've made a lot of progress and can cope better with body issue problems in general.
Edit: Forgot to add i also tried to end it by overdosing on a bottle of sleeping pills and snorting a box of diet pills. Luckily i spewed it up.
Sure, but the 'sad broken individuals' are usually the most interesting"If our brains were simple enough for us to easily understand, we would be so simple that we couldn't understand them"
