This is the exact reason I always had to lol at some posters who would cite certain exercises being better because you could load more weight (i.e., barbell bench over dumbbell as an example). BB Bench was automatically the better lift due to more weight.

I'd be like..... leg press allows more weight than squat, so it is better too, right? I don't think they ever actually thought their parroting through, before spouting random bullet points they happened to read and don't recall the context.

I've heard that one a lot as well. What's worse is that it came from a fat, old guy who couldn't even squat 200 lbs.

Atg fronts feel more natural to me than low bar squats ever did. I'd never give up these two lifts, srs.

P.S. How to safely dump the bar after front squatting? Here's what I did last week:

1. Power clean
2. Front squat x 5 reps
3. Squat down again, lean forward and dump the bar.

No rack. No bumper plates.

Dude, if your form is good, you might get stuck.. aka it might fall on your knees and it would be painful. Just frikken stand up and drop the weight to the floor, no need to bend over, lower yourself, or do any other stupid stuff. the quickest you push the barbell of your shoulders, the safest you will be.

As you must know, I squat using the Captain's chair, and that doesn't allow me to use the clean grip. Thus, I've been power cleaning the first rep everytime. Bad news is that my PC technique isn't good enough, so I can FS more than I can PC.

Will dump the bar while standing upright. I just don't like making too much noise while lifting.

The horizontal handles at the front of the captain's chair (that some people do dips on), he sets the bar there, IIRC.

Yah. That's a much stronger area. I used to do what you described, but the damn thing got so bent, I had to improvise.

See post 6562. The handles are too closely spaced and I can't use a clean grip; I can only do cross-arm.

Will try it with straps next time. That's better than what I'm doing at present.

None, whatsoever. It has a multi-gym in the centre [chest press, leg extn/curl, lat pulldown and seated row]. Then there's an ab-slide thing and the Captain's chair. There also are two treadmills and two bikes.

Not complaining, as I only do barbell movements.
