Diablo 3 = Emotional Abuse

I am just recovering from this....

when it was announced 4-5 years ago, I was getting goosebumps all over
All my childhood memories and feelings came back, Diablo 2 was more than a game, it was an entire childhood and it was the best ****ing game to ever be released even after a full decade of new games coming out
I took the entire day off to focus on the diablo website to absorb all the content they released

Since then, i watched the announcement video every few months, followed every blue post, every news items, for years

Then it came out, and it's the worst ****ing game to ever be released
I quit it after 2 weeks of forcing myself to play it.

I am still upset after all this time.

lol that game was nothing but hype, and all the gaming site reviews are proof of this. after the first couple of weeks everyone forgot about it when they realized what a failure it was.

I feel you. I was OBSESSED with D2. Played from Soph in HS -> Jr in College (religiously to an extent)

D3 came out, coudlnt log on on launch night til like 6am. Bunch of RL friends got it and now never play anymore (one never got past lvl 3) I feel once PVP launches it will change as I primarily played D2 for PK/PVP action.

I'm at least making my $60 back from the RMAH before I quit then selling my account, I'm going to give it a year at least though as once my RL friends play more I'll have a lot more fun. I feel the early exploits + koreans running labs of computers each with 15 instances of D3 all botting 24/7 has ruined the game.

without the epic runewords it just seems pointless. and no in-game trading and bartering is boring also not making your own games just "start game" is dumb as phuck.

Agreed, I got to Nightmare and was raging hard when it dawned on me how ****ty the game was. I still tried to push through to Hell, but it was just frustrating rather than an 'experience'.

I still can't believe how much they fuarked WoW as well.

Diablo 3 is ****ing stupid. D2 had random stats, but it was never so ridiculously low. Epics were always good in d2. Yes, you could get a low roll of stats, in d2; but it would never be sooo low, that the epic item becomes useless.

Also I think making the game more skillful was needed seeing as how they plan on PvP.

I wouldn't be surprised if the PvP makes it all worth it.

Point of game now:

Farm for hours mindlessly killi g the same mobs over and over for that rare chance you find something that might have some value only to watch it not sell at all on the AH and then you repost it at a lower price to try to get any money and after doing this for little bits of money for days on end hope that you get enough to buy one more item that will make it easier for you to farm more stuff so that you can repeat the cycle.

agreed, blizzard made a huge mistake. I finished the first playthrough in about a week and it was still having a ton of lag issues at that time. Call customer support, sat on hold for an hour, complained about lag, got full refund. Never looked back

ill make my final judge once the PvP patch comes out but thats not for a while... and end game is useless atm, the item hunt in D2 was at least fun but in D3 its not... and they arent adding runewords to the game, they dont even have runes in the game

Game is absolute trash, only designed for testing the real money auction house for their new mmo. Quit after the first week I had it, haven't even attempted to play it again. A game like this without pvp is not fun at all.

You guys know nothing. D1 is where it's at. One of the best games ever. Get emotional just thinking about playing that through.

D2 had problems - having to spam to pick up loot when doing boss runs was annoying but overall it was a fantastic game.

I haven't been able to play D3 though as I'm abroad and have no good PC. Sounds like a good thing though going by people's opinions.
