How to fix a damaged metabolism?

How do you fix a damaged metabolism? Unfortunately through my inexperience and hunger for fat loss I believe my metabolism has been damaged. What steps do I need to take to fix this?

I don't think there is any set rule of how many days or what ratios. It's based on the individual.
I had to go back to a recomp/maintenance diet instead of a cut to continue to lose weight. Put the carbs and fat back in, see what happens, and make adjustments from there going forward.

you're fine man, just start adding in calories at the rate you decide. keep them stagnant for at least a week then add some more in.

If you are truly convinced you have an issue, it's probably advisable to go to your doc, let him fumble around and do some blood tests, then directly ask for a referral to an endocrinologist where you can have a good discussion about what you did, where you are now, and what to do to fix it.

    Do you have health insurance?
The only thing that would not be covered is the co-pay to the doctor.

I think Lyle has talked about carbs up regulating thyroid/metabolism. Try eating at x calories with high carbs, low fat (50g or less, I think he recommends for refeeds). At the same time, I also think I've read he thinks severe metabolic slowdown is untrue. I'll try to find his article.

Just curious what exactly you did to think you damaged your metabolism? Please be specific, as in XXXX cal/day for how long, etc...

Are you fat because you're lazy or are you lazy because you're fat?
