Artificial Sweeteners ARE bad for some folks
This thread may be old but I wanted to post here since I came across it in a search and others may as well.
This is my story about aspartame and other artificial sweeteners.... Several years ago I was fighting headaches, dizziness and an irregular heart beat and palpitations. I had seen several doctors and specialists and none could determine the cause. I had changes PCP doctors and when discussing with my new doctor we got into a conversation about my diet. That's when he told me about aspartame poisoning. You can Google it for a complete list of symptoms. But my condition aligned perfectly. The doc explained it gets into fatty tissue and hangs around for months even after you cut it from your diet. Long story short he had me cut all artificial sweeteners from my diet. I did not notice an immediate improvement. In fact it took 4 months. But the doc told me to stick with it and I followed his advice. Within maybe 6 to 7 months from cutting it form my diet all symptoms were gone.
So - aspartame, sucralose, etc.... they may not have side effects on everyone. But they did for me. They're nasty nasty stuff and my advise is to all whom read this is to stay away and avoid them. And they're in practically everything. You don't realize it until you're actively trying to avoid them.
Some think that they must be safe since the government signed off on them (FDA). I'll remind those folks that such information comes from the same government that for nearly a century contended that lead in gasoline was perfectly safe.. And how many lawyer commercials for people taking drugs that harmed them do you see? All of those drugs were approved by the FDA too. Politics and money play just as large a role as your safety over at the FDA.... In government - it's money and power that's king.
Make informed decisions and recognize the government information for what it is. Because the FDA has been wrong soooooo many times about soooooo many things. It's not worth gambling your health on.

I know, old thread that will not die! but instead of fighting over whether artificial sweeteners are safe or not, why not just offer OP some natural clean options? While I don't necessarily believe small amounts of artificial sweeteners are bad, I don't want that crap in my supplements either. I'm not consuming supps for taste, I'm consuming them for results. Cheers!

Funny stuff, no doubt some take it to an extreme, but it's nice to have an option sans all the fancy flavorings and sweeteners. I think companies should just add a flavor called natural or naked to their lineups with a warning that since nothing has been added to mask the taste of the ingredients, good luck downing it and keeping it down and don't complain to us about the taste or look.

rhadam I've had allergic reaction to aspartame and sucralose. aspartame locks me up where I cannot piss a drop for 4-5 hours. sucralose swells my prostate up, causes me low back pain, pelvic pain, testicular pain swelling up the epididymis, and also my skin starts having a warming and cooling sensation all over it meaning it burns a bit then becomes ice cold, burns a bit then becomes ice cold, the only thing that would calm all of this down was prednisone. My experience is probably on the rare side, but I avoid
artificial sugar like the plague. I'd like to also note my father who is 59 yrs old cannot consume anything with aspartame in it because it bothers his heart.Like everyone else, you want to learn the way to win. But never to accept the way to lose. To accept defeat, to learn to die, is to be liberated from it. So when tomorrow comes, you must free your ambitious mind and learn the art of dying.

Products with aspartame tend to give me a headache and leave me with a dry mouth, I use Optimum Nutrition's Natural Oats and Whey.
It's sweetened with cane sugar and honey I think. No aftertaste, no dry mouth. No headaches either. I think products which use aspartame also use artificial colours and that's what causes the headaches. Certain colours are now banned in the EU but are still common in American-made products. I think they're called names like sunset yellow and lake blue 40. Some bs like that.

CSPI Downgrades Sucralose to "Avoid"
Source: Look for cspinet dot org slash new slash 20162018 dot html
The Center for Science in the Public Interest has downgraded its safety rating of sucralose, the artificial sweetener also known by the brand name Splenda, from “caution” to “avoid” in the group’s Chemical Cuisine glossary of food additives.
The nonprofit food safety and nutrition watchdog group is citing a newly published study from the respected Ramazzini Institute, an independent laboratory based in Italy, which found that the chemical caused leukemia and related blood cancers in male mice.
This is the second time CSPI has downgraded its rating of the sweetener. In 2013 the group downgraded sucralose from “safe” to “caution” after the Ramazzini Institute presented the then-unpublished findings of the study at a conference. The study was finally published on January 29 in the peer-reviewed International Journal of Occupational and Environmental Health.
Sucralose is found in some diet sodas, including Diet Pepsi, where it is paired with another artificial sweetener, acesulfame potassium, and Diet Mountain Dew, where it is combined with acesulfame potassium and aspartame. It also appears in everything from prepared dinners and salad dressings to yogurts and cereals. In fact, sucralose is used in more products in the United States than any other artificial sweetener.
“We recommend that consumers avoid sucralose, or Splenda, and we recommend consumers also avoid saccharin, aspartame, and acesulfame potassium,” said CSPI president Michael F. Jacobson. “That said, the risk posed by over-consumption of sugar and high-fructose corn syrup, particularly from soda and other sugar-sweetened beverages, of diabetes, heart disease, and obesity, far outweighs the cancer risk posed by sucralose and most other artificial sweeteners. Consumers are better off drinking water, seltzer, or flavored waters, but diet soda does beat regular soda.”
The only other long-term feeding studies conducted on sucralose were conducted by the manufacturer and did not find a problem. According to CSPI, the new study is more powerful than the industry-funded studies, which tested fewer animals, started exposing the animals beginning at adolescence as opposed to in utero, and ended earlier in the animals’ lives.

New guy here. I know it is an old thread but I recently went looking for a good all natural whey as well and found one, so thought Id share... I haven't read all 5 pages so if someone else has posted already, my apologies.
I landed on Muscle Feast - Chocolate
It is whey isolate, hormone free, grass fed, non-GMO, all natural, and sweetened with stevia. There are 5 ingredients (1 - Whey Protein Isolate, 2 - Natural Chocolate Flavor, 3 - Cocoa Powder, 4 - Sunflower Lecithin, 5 - Stevia Reb A 97/98). I have been doing the keto diet for about 4 months and I make this with 12 oz of almond milk, 1 or 2 scoops of Muscle Feast (depending on where my macros are that day and how much protein I want), and 1 Tbsp of pure coconut (MCT) oil. Throw in some ice cubes to cool it off and use a hand blender to smooth it out... occasionally I will put in 1 or 2 tbsp of all natural peanut butter. It is like a peanut butter/chocolate milkshake... Best tasting protein shake I have ever had. Sells on Amazon for $65 for a 5lb bucket.
