How much harder is majoring in Electrical Engineering than Civil/mechanical?

Title^. I want to major in EE but I heard it's a lot harder than Civil/mechanical. Don't want to major in it if there's a large chance I can't succeed in it.

The guys I talk to majoring in electrical have told me that to them, statics and dynamics are a lot harder than their electrical classes. In Aus during first year we do a bit of everything before going onto our chosen major in second year so they know a bit. It depends on the person.

Fuarrkk that sounds hard. I'm naturally good at math and science but sounds difficult lol.

Harder than Mechanical? Eh dunno about that bro. Civil? Quite a bit harder. Mechanical revolves around heat transfer, dynamics, thermodynamics, and machine design. Lol.

Everything worth doing is 'hard'. Anybody can succeed in engineering if they are motivated and understand that they will need to spend time learning content on their own. Sure, some learn faster than others, but that's no excuse.

If you choose your major based on "i heard it's a lot harder" opinions from your phaggot friends then you probably shouldn't make that your area of study because you would fail anyways.

    this, dumbass.

if you are honestly entering engineering and deciding discipline based on what would be "harder" then you might want to reconsider engineering at all (srs)

any discipline you go into is going to be intensive, and require a LOT of work and dedication.

electrical is harder i would think. I just graduated from uconn with a B.S. in mechanical engineering(just got a job and dont remember a thing! haha) I took a lot of civil engr classes, statics, dynamics, mechanics of materials... etc. And they were much more easy to visualize and figure out IMO. Electrical is a lot more crazy math i think, and its a lot more difficult to visualize flux, magnetic fields... and then once you get into alternating current all the crazy stuff that it entails, well yea I couldnt handle it... id say do mechanical engineering (if youre trying to pick a major), i thought heat transfer, thermo, fluids... all that was pretty darn interesting. But do what you like! And it is true, it depends on the person

It strictly depends on the person. For example, if you're good at chemistry, specifically organic chem, then you'll find chemical engineering much easier than someone like me who struggles with chemistry courses. I'm good at the physics involved in civil engineering and i somewhat enjoy it that's why i chose to major in civil. You gota figure out what field you enjoy and what kind of courses you're good at and then chose from there. I believe electrical involves a lot of circuits and computer programming type of courses

Mechanical and civil are a lot more... physical/mechanical oriented if that makes sense. More work with forces that can be easily observed in the real world, think stuff like tension and heat transfer, stuff you encounter every day

Electrical is less 'real world' you could say, as there are more magnetic fields and electrons, which you can't really observe directly. Actual design also includes more stuff like circuit design and programming rather than designing machines and other more 'mechanical' systems. Hope that made sense.

I like working with electricity/circuits much more than mechanics and such, it seems more two dimensional than than three dimensional. Concepts like circuit analysis seem much easier to me than looking at a diagram and analyzing all the forces and angles and everything.

Static is special case of dynamics. It say everything about it. I wonder you all here like educated and no one of you didn’t hear word “abstract”? Dynamic mean related to time and then mean differential equations and then mean not much easier then electro dynamics except for that “abstract” factor.
