Is drinking 12 low carb/calorie beers a week ruining my efforts at a lean, ripped body?? What do you guys think? I have read alot about how alcohol gives men bich tit's and ruins diets. Just curious what you other guys think.

+1 if you have read about alcohol use and building muscle, like you said you have you know that it dehydrates your muscles and does not leave your body in the optimal muscle building state. Will having a few beers destroy your efforts? No. Will it diminish your results? Yes.

This is so vague, and verging on false.
Alcohol directly affects your "muscle building state" negatively? Care to show a study on this?
Dehydrating your muscles? You can't just make up theories. What does 'dehydrating your muscles' mean?
OP, just follow that leangains link, try not to eat after your alcohol binge as this is the most prominant effect of alcohol on fat gain.
Basically, all you need to worry about with alcohol and lifting is
1) fat gain :does it put you at a caloric surplus. If not, you will be fine.
2) Fat gain again: do you eat after your binge due to the alcohol munchies? Food ingested is placed on hold, so that your body can get rid of the alcohol first ... therefore, there is more chance of those ingested cals being stored as fat, but this still isn't a disaster by any means if you do it once a week.
3) hangover laziness: were you planning on working out, and then don't due to hangover?
That 3rd example, is the only way alcohol can affect your muscle gain. It is false, scientifically, that alcohol puts you in a bad muscle building state.
Count your alcohol cals, don't eat around the alcohol binge, stick to diet mixers, ensure your weekly diet and workout routine remains in check.
If you do those things, partying once or twice a week won't be visually noticeable at all!"Never attempt to train yourself into a caloric deficit. Don't spend hours on the treadmill. Diet comes first, cardio second. The dumbest fat loss strategy ever devised is used by people that wake up early in the morning before going to work to do cardio and follow that up with "recovery shake." Congratulations, you just wasted two hours of your life." Martin Berkhan

[QUOTE=Chad31275;926795853] I agree with the last part (especially since I do my fair share of drinking) but here's a quote from the leangains site because you respect martin's opinion
"For alcohol to significantly lower testosterone, you need to do some serious drinking. ~120 g alcohol, the equivalent of 10 beers, will lower testosterone by 23% for up to 16 hours after the drinking binge."
Now I don't know about you but I easily hit ten beers when drinking. Moderate alcohol doesn't do anything but binging definitely can.
This is pretty well known but not a big deal if its only once a week or so.
