fawk, im never benching again
-Some people say good things come to those who wait, truth is, good things come to those who work..... who work later.....who work harder...... who are willing to go further than anyone else to get them. If you're waiting for good things to come to you, you'll be waiting for a pretty long time.

this is not very humerus.
p.s. they used staples bc it is a very long incision, which makes the risk of infection greater, and staples are easier to remove. If they sutured the skin shut and you developed a wound infection, they would have to cut you open again.***SRT PR Crew (Strong Rep to Post Ratio Crew)***

Ok now I understand fully..good luck with recovery brah.
Someone mentioned "this is why I use DB"s", i'm pretty sure the same thing can happen if you lower/drop the weights in a simialar fashion.. causing your arm to twist backwards. I guess just avoid that motion as much as possibleMisc jawbrah appreciation crew

Arm is held together by plates and screws so they don't need to put a cast on brah.
I am working. My job is office based and it won't affect work too much. Got a 7 week sick note and don't expect to be off any longer than this from my job. I commute on a train and I don't imagine it will phuck up my life too much outside the gym. My movement is already coming back. First week was a nightmare but I spent it all in hospital so no harm done. Just gonna chill with my family for a few weeks and recover nice and slow and keep taking pain relief every few hours. Am just 100% focused on getting my arm to work as normal now, nothing else in life is going to really matter to me these next few months.*****North East UK Crew*****

Broke shoulder and ankle. Both motorcycle accidents. Dislocated and broke the collarbone into two pieces, it was standing around 10 cm higher than where its supposed to be. Ankle snapped into two, I could see the bone sticking out. They said if i went to surgery 30 minutes later i would probably be an amputee. Both healed and recovered very well. You gonna be ok OP, you gonna be ok.

Broke mine armwrestling in '05. Scar looked the same as yours. I wish I would've casted it instead of surgery. Prepare to never recover fully. I now have tendonitis and bursitis in elbow and tricep. Bench max dropped about 30%. You'll prob want to take that hardware out when you can. I waited 4 years and saw some improvement after I had it removed. Feel for you bro.

phuck dude that don't sound good at all I contemplated a cast to the surgery option, but there was about 10 docs and surgeons all telling me to get operated on so I just went with what they said to me. Really felt like it was my only option as they were so strongly advising the op to go ahead. Sorry to hear about all your problems. I just have to pray and hope that I recover. Really hope you fully improve eventually and get back to where you were pre-op.
