Any tough mudders out there?
I'm training for my first mudder that takes place in October for Las Vegas. Can I get some suggestions of how to train? Anyone else gonna be at the race? Share experiences?
So pumped!

I did a tough mudder back in September of last year. Make sure you work on upper body strength and cardio. Be prepared to get banged up a bit hope this helps

Over priced extortion racket, designed to give an "army" like experience by combining obstacles in a cardio arena. If you find it too hard or too challenging, then you are not fit enough and below a basic fitness standard. if you are suffering sore shins etc, then maybe time to do some jogging to avoid shin splints of other ailments resulting from being to heavy and not running enough. A very basic test involving simple obstacles. Coming from an army back ground i expected a lot more for my $145. That being said, it is fun if you have a few friends, but not worth the price they ask.

Tough mudder, spartan race, warrior dash, mud run, etc etc Crew checking in.
It is definitely WAY to expensive, but it is decently fun. The one in colorado was 13 miles, up a ski slope, with I believe 20 obstacles. The obstacles were incredibly easy and not challenging at all. The worst part was he ICE COLD water I had to dive in. Made my legs cramp up really bad. Overall Id give it a 5/10 experience. Honestly it was just to long to be super fun, and not enough cool obstacles. There were portions where it was just a long boring 3-4 mile stretch of nothing but dirt road. The only challenging portion, to me, was the distance going mostly uphill. But then again, I am an Infantrymen and we do things like this a lot, and I do many of these types of races in my free time. Spartan Race and Warrior Dash were much better in my opinion.
To train....go jogging for long distances 7-10 miles. All the obstacles are incredibly easy and really don't challenge at all. Rope climb, monkey bars, crawling through muddy tubes, crawling under electric wires, etc. Nothing difficult at all.OEF IX, X, XI, XII vet
