I assume swimming is more of a full body exercise and gets a lot more muscle groups activated than running so I would go with swimming brah.

depends on the pace but lets just says you are doing both at a moderate level, then running should burn more

it obviously depends on your pace for each activity. i've read that swimming is more calorie burning though.

running 9 min miles has a MET value of 11, Swimming at a moderate pace is around 10 METs. I think swimming is harder plus it doesnt destroy your knees and hips like jogging

you would need to run hard to burn as much calories as you would swimming.

pound the **** out of your joints vs floating in jizz.

    Both are good for cardio/cuts.

However if you're focusing on HIIT, running would be easier to regulate with intervals I would imagine.

Swimming non stop for 30 minutes would ****ing wreck you as well.

I would do both, Swim on your off days or something. It's good cardio, overall body exercise, and it soothes your sore muscles from running.

    Swimming without a doubt.

However for HIIT you should be doing running. Way to hard to control HIIT swimming

It really depends on the pace. You planning to do wind sprints with cool down or run on a treadmill or what? Or are you planning to do 50 meter swim sprints with 50 meter cool downs between? There's alot more to the equation than just run or swim....

Depends on the intensity, obviously if you run at a fast pace for 30 mins but are a poor swimmer and do not go fast while swimming, running will be better for you.

However if you have swum for a long period in your life, you will probably be very efficient at swimming, and be able to cover a large distance with minimal strokes, and thus would have to push yourself to swim fast and at high intensity.

I'd definitely have to say swimming. You are working out more muscles thus burning more calories.
