I'd be interested in seeing some pics post surgery. Maybe some after your healed up a bit or something as well. I don't have any loose skin now, but I'm still dropping weight. I started at about 250 lbs, now sitting at about 195 lbs, no loose skin yet, but I've got another 30 or so left I want to drop. If I do have a bunch of skin, I'm getting that sh!t chopped off.

You put obesity down like the bitch it is, you beat obesity and prob saved yourself from an early grave / life filled with illness. Great work brah.
Some Q's for your time, myself and others would like specifics on your diet + workouts.
You mentioned that you cut at 1800, how many meals worked for you?
When did you eat them? What foods did you eat in a typical day?
You mentioned that you did different programs?
What were they?
What did you do when?

Ps. I have a friend who's at 300+ lbs and this is great info, I told him on a proper diet + routine he can lose 4-6kgs per month, ~ about 40-45kg in 1years time. You confirmed my initial judgement.

Thanks bromontana
You mentioned that you cut at 1800, how many meals worked for you?
When did you eat them? What foods did you eat in a typical day?
Typically 3, I basically ate 1800 of protein. I worked 10 hour shifts at the time so I would eat meal 1&2 would be 8oz of turkey or chicken with a veggie then meal 3 would be post workout that night with 2 scoops of whey and banana....there would be snacks in there like string cheese..etc.
You mentioned that you did different programs?
What were they?
What did you do when?
When I very 1st started I didn't weight train, when I did start weight training I did just whatever looked fun or good at the time...although I wish I would have done SS or something simular.
To be honest I've done variations of PHAT, Kris gethins hardcore trainer, SS, MAXOT, HST..etc.
The hardcore trainer was the worse...BY FAR......any of the other ones can be successful as long as you follow overload progression rules and lift either 1 more rep or 5 more lbs each week.
Tell your friend good luck! Also, not sure if he is on the forums but have him stop by if he wants to pick my brain!
Thanks for the encouraging words and yes, outside of my goal of being aesthetic I can't ignore the immense health benefit to what I've done. Thanks again bro and hopefully my post is detailed enough.

Thanks bro, great info.
Trying different diets + workouts let you know what's best for you (result wise and comfort wise). So all that (wasted time) don't worry about it, the knowledge you got by experimenting (you wouldn't trade it for the world)... Well maybe for asthetics (lawl).
If you could start over (say ur 300+lbs again) but with your current knowledge.
How would you approach it diet wise and routine wise?
Diet, cutting at 1800 with those 3meals + snacks + protein (reasonable enough) - no need to change this I think.
Routine wise, would you do cardio only for a set amount of time? Or only heavy lifts? Or 5-day split with/without cardio? Assuming the time frame is 10-12months.
Lastly what would you avoid / what did you wish you had known earlier? (Cardio = useless? / waste of time?) . Eating sub 1000calories = crashed metabolism = counter-productive?
What foods did you have the hardest time cutting? (Bread / simple carbs) -sugar etc
And what did you do get past those cravings?

Great questions dude.
If I were 300lbs+ again...I'd start thing completely different!
I would have eased into dieting a little more and focused on eating as much as I could and still lose 2-4lbs per week. I wouldn't wreck my met rate.
I also would have learned the 3 basic lifts and gotten ungodly strong with those first before messing around with all the other stuff.
Cardio wise...I would have done probably the same. I did standard 30-40 minutes 5-7 days week after I lifted.
I've always practiced flexible dieting to avoid cravings so this really hasn't been an issue for me. I just eat within my macros and make sure I get call my micros as well.
Eating less than you have to IMO isn't optimal - effects your met rate, performance and sanity tbh..
PS
Brownies are my weak spot..oh lawd

Curious to what numbers you have on your lifts currently.
For the squat bench deadlift;
Current numbers / all time pr's?
I started at 208lbs currently at 170 (8month cut) trying to reach 150lbs (by years end) while cutting as much fat as possible.
Squat 2plates (225)
Bench 1plate (135) < weak upper body
Dl 2plates (225) < weak grip
