You can't 'mess' up your metabolism so to speak. You've probably just reached a plateau and in that case just change a few things up in your diet aswell as your workouts. Perhaps try IF (Intermittent Fasting) or a keto diet. Instead of running try doing more volume in your workouts and more compound exercises...

I am on the road to something similar. I do worry about loose skin as I don't think I will be in a position to afford surgery for quite awhile due to other responsibilities (mainly kids) I started out at 317 lbs and am at 248 lbs at the moment. I am continuing to cut down to 220 lbs and will assess. Did you do just 2 cut phases 1 long (year 100 lbs) and 1 long but really gradual (year 20 lbs)?
Rebooted 2/24/2015: 286 lbs
Started at 317 lbs in Feb 2012 Ended 172.2 in October 2013.

Thanks man - it definitely took dedication and consistency
thanks!
I'll post an updated after surgery pic in this thread, it'll probably be awhile though but def check back!
Yeah, my 1st year was pure weight loss then the 2nd year I slowed down to gain some muscle and rehab my met rate.
Just make sure you keep you met rate as healthy as you can and you should be ok - don't make the same mistake I did and crash diet...it wasn't worth it.

how long did it take for the "reverse" diet to kick in?
in other words,
1) what did you go from calories wise to calories wise (your low to your 'maintenance')
2) how much weight did you end up gaining when you decided to stop the crash diet
3) what did you find was your maintenance calories? what type of excessive did you put in for your activity factor?
(in other words, say..."it took me 2 months, gained 30lbs, ended at 210 and maintained on 2000...or something like that)
thanks for the info! and rep'ed!
btw, check my thread!

You choose when the reverse diet starts - basically it's just a method of maintaining weight and ramping up your food.
1) I never consistently went lower than 1800 calories during my initial block of fat loss, this took me from 307lbs to just above 200lbs. Now I am eating 2400 calories at 183lbs with a refeed of 3000 calories 1 day per week.
2) I didn't gain much because I maintained a consistent day to do calorie balance and slow reintroduced foods
3) I didn't use any calculator to find my maintenance cals, I found out myself through experimenting. Depending on what my goal was and where I was at I adjusted. My gain focus was gaining muscle of the last year then the past 20 weeks I did a quick lil cut which was a lot easier since I had more LBM. Basically the more muscle the better, because you can eat more haha.
Thanks!

The surgery is called an abdominoplasty.
Im in the same boat as you, weighed 300 lb's about 10 months ago and now im sitting at 194. Have lots of excess skin and I plan on getting that surgery as well. Keep me posted on that if you can as i'll be starting to look into it after the Ironman im doing in October. Curious to see how much it costs and how effective it was for you.
Also, your BF is around 11-12% right now. You should see all your abs pretty quickly after surgery.
Congratulations! Not many people have the drive to do what we did.Fitness & Transformation Blog: fit.ealfonso.com
