Birthday party was awesome for my son yesterday. Ninja turtle cake and cupcakes, pizza, BBQ pulled pork, cheesy potato cassarole, fruit, chicken nuggets and salad.
I felt like I ate like a pig...but hey that's every workout day for meOG

Unless it is obvious to anyone who isn't blind that you lift weights, you might still benefit from a little more attention to big basic barbell exercises for enough reps:).

Take the long term view Jason. That is what has been working so well for you. You will get there, but if you rush too much, you might hurt shoulders. Be nice and steady like Wendler recommends:
Next year, all going well, you'll be 50lbs stronger in the press. That might be 210 x 8 singles, without any problem.
I was ramping up singles max effort style all the time, and it just beat me up. Now I don't actually test my real max, since you inevitably fall back after a true max effort. But singles at training max every second week should be the business long term.Beginners:

He turned 4. Got a crap load of TMNT stuff inclding a 4 pack DVD on all 4 movies. My brother-in-law and I where more stoked for that than he was.
I have no plan in the near future to go heavy all out maxes, especially with a competition coming up this summer. I'm just going to stay the course and re-set 2 cycles as needed on my lifts to keep making progress.OG

Cycle 8 wave 2
Squats
140*10
170*10
205*5
Deadlift
190*5
230*5
265*3
305*3
320*3
340*6
Felt nice and strong on these. On the 6th rep my grip went on the left hand, probably had 1-2 more left in me. Got to get some more chalk for sure.
DB bench
65*15
65*15
65*12
Felt good on these as well. Thinking of upping to 70 lbs and hit 3x10 with them next cycle.
rear delt
15*15
15*15
15*15
I get a good pump from these, definitly a keeper.
Hammer curls
50*10
50*10
50*10
Again a nice pump from them.probably should have stopped at 8 on the last set but said fark it and went for 10.
Overall, a pretty good start to the training week. on the plus side it's warm (40's F) and the cardio bunnies were wearing yoga and and underarmor pants...winning.OG

Cycle 8 wave 2
squats
140*5
170*5
205*5
Did these with no rest between sets, only time to change the plates.
Bench
115*5
135*5
160*3
180*3
190*3
205*6
Though I might have been able to only get 5 reps...felt good to get 6. If I had a spotter I would have went for 7, as I got kind stuck in the middle on the 6th rep but pushed through it. Calculates to exactly my current 1RM...feelsgoodman.
DB row
75*10
75*10
75*10
Felt pretty eazy, will up these to 80 next wave.
Rear delt flies
15*15
15*15
15*15
I really like doing these after the pressing. The only problem is the DOMS I get in my traps the next day, Good lawd.
Hammer Curls
50*10
50*10
55*10
Felt strong on these as well.
Overall, a strong showing in the gym for sure. Gotta love dem extra calories...nom,nom,nom. Everything felt light. Totally forgot to do a weigh in on Monday and today, maybe I'll remember on Friday, LOL. Time to eat like a manimal.Last edited by Jasonk282; 02-13-2013 at 06:39 AM.

lol yup, got pressed by a random dude in the locker room about supps., he was like what's the best supp for cutting. i was like i guess you could use caffeine in various forms as an appetite suppressant but usually i just eat less. que the hydroxy cut responsed followed by my yeah or as i said caffeine. followed by the inevitable bulking supps questions which in response i said eat more, maybe some creapure. que blah blah muscle tech, que headphones back in.
looking strong as always bro, 2 pps for reps easy coming soonThe dumber people think you are, the more surprised they're going to be when you kill them. - William Clayton
