Lol, strong Yahoo chart.
I just meant I'm surprised because like you said, tech industry overall and silicon valley is thriving. We already know earnings and predictions for AAPL are gonna be skewed or off altogether because they are cash hoarders. They didn't really have a choice but to start paying dividends this year, because they were gonna start feeling it from shareholders. I wonder what kind of employee profit share/retirement plan they have besides the standard 401k and stock issues. It had better be huge.
I don't day trade. That's for the birds. I know lots of people that have made money doing it, but a lot more that lost. Some people don't see it as actual money. I like my long term investments.
Thanks. Will watch vid later when I get a chance.
LMAO
If you wanna get your tendons stronger, you need to keep working with light weights and gradually build up in small increments over a long period time. Tendons are among the group of tissues that get the least amount of direct blood flow. Your muscles will get a lot bigger and stronger faster causing more stress than the tendons can recuperate from in the same amount of time. Which leads to the next practice...proper recuperation time.
It seems as the the rest of the world is more dependent on skype than here. I mean I use it from time to time, but I think Americans just prefer other forms of communication whenever possible, no matter what the expense. Skype being the communication choice in the most at need situations. Whereas other countries just consider it more common practice. Then again other countries preferred to text than make voice calls, while we were the opposite. But over the last few years, we now text as much as the rest of the world, so who knows what will be in the next few years. I dunno, I'm probably wrong.
Even as a joke that sounded groce. lol

You know my answer to that one
Good job bro!
Thanks BFF! Kill it tomorrow morning and then have fun being daddy daycare
LOL
I said trade, not daytrade, brah. When I was more active in investing and researching companies, I'd buy and hold for the medium term - 6 months to a year. Now, with no time for that, I just buy ETFs and let them ride. It's been working well since the market's gone up.
As for Skype (or IM in general), all I can say is that it's a huge thing in technology companies. I've been using IM for work since 2001. First Yahoo, then MSN, then AIM, and now Skype. It's an essential communications tool for the companies I've worked at, and I would think, for the tech industry at large.
We joke all the time about what kind of company secrets are in IM archives stored at Yahoo/Microsoft/AOL/Skype. You can become a billionaire with the amount of company information passed over IM.## chillin at home crew

I wasn't talking about you. I was saying I don't day trade. Because it seems for the last 10 years a lot of people only know day trading, and I'm sharing this with the others who read our posts who have asked about trading before. The questions have arisen.
Most my positions are years old. Not necessarily all in the steady growth and decline stocks like people would normally invest, I've had steep ups and downs too. I do trade online with the discount firms, but mainly I go through my broker. The discount firms are nice because you can trade on the fly if you really see a time sensitive opportunity and the cost per trade is so low. I don't mind premium broker fee since I don't trade that often and the cost of keeping a stock for years makes it palpable. The great thing about having a broker in a traditional investment firm is availability. First dibs of IPO's or the advantage of having being the designated brokerage firm and the access to hard to get shares.
The one thing that I do wish that all firms would bring back is block trading.
As for Skype, I was talking about Skype specifically, not grouping it with the non video IMs. Not questioning who uses it, but wondering who uses it more. As for IM, I use IM quite frequently. Yes former yahoo and msn account holder here.

My company uses Microsoft Lync. It's pretty cool but I do use Skype to chat with friends and some coworkers.

That's cool bro. I started with the discount brokers - Schwab at first, then moved on to Waterhouse, Scottrade, Etrade - and have stuck with them. Haven't gone to a premium brokerage firm yet
For the record, I don't recommend daytrading either
I agree with you regarding the prevalence of Skype internationally. Since my company does business overseas and has FTEs in Europe, Skype makes the most sense. Other companies I've worked at with mainly domestic business have used the traditional US IM services mentioned.
Unified communications as in a Unified Inbox? And available on any device?
Microsoft bought Skype so I would expect Lync to get, if it hasn't already, some Skype-like features.## chillin at home crew
