Were we still talking about DLs?
I'm sure you're doing it right bro
I once saw this kid deadlifting 315. He got the first rep up with a bit of effort. Then for the next five reps, he basically did a "controlled drop" to the strategically placed stretch mats and used the bounce to complete the rep ... facepalm.jpg

There is nothing wrong with touch and go deadlifting where you bounce the weight. You are less prone to **** up your back doing it compared to resetting each rep.

dear diary,
was lazy as hell to go through pics but finally went through and found old whale pics
quick back story, was 260 lbs freshman year of HS (first pic)
became a beginner lifter but thot i was swole as fck (second pic)
college started, got a gf and started partying so disregarded gym, graduated at 230 (third pic)
been lifting srsly again for about a year since graduating college (fourth pic)
early high school - i cringe at how i used to dress too
end of HS - strong spikey hair and gold bracelet, i cringe everytime
after college
most recent
never used to squat or deadlift when i lifted during HS, was a huge upper body whore and one of those teens who wears beaters to the gym thinking he's swole when did i even lift?
quick note: had surgery on both shoulders for labram tears which hinder my gains
can see my gyno in most recent pic and still got a long way to go in terms of losing fat but "i'm closer than i was yesterday"

thanks and morning brahs!
my main goal is to have visible abs and tigthen up as much loose skin as i can right now. due to me shoulder injuries i don't really try to lift for strength anymore but i do have days here and there when i go heavier in the 4-6 rep range.
i enjoy cardio so two of my goals this summer is to do a non stop 100 mile bike ride and try to hit a 6 minute running mile, i'm at about a 7:15 right now.♣BOSTON STRONG♣

Oh man, I know dat feel. lol, I hate that.
The other thing I hate is when people tie up a specific set of equipment when there are other options. Especially when the other options are better anyway.
Example: This one franchise gym I go to is huge, has every bit of equipment you could ever ask for, multiples even. But for some reason at one location, they don't have a plain seated military bench/rack, but all their other locations do, but they are kinda far, so if I happen to be at this gym on shoulder day, I have to use the Smith machine to replicate seated military barbell presses. The thing is they got 4 smith machines, but they are always full. I can understand the women taking up the machines when they do their squats and stuff, the weight seems lighter and easier to control. But I don't understand these *******s that hog up the machines to do bench presses, when there are 4 open benches about 10 feet away.
LOL mi dang to vc
Also srs? You used to play sports right? I know you've run 6 minute miles before right, even in the past?

this happened to me yesterday. one real squat rack and a military press rack that can be adjusted to squat in and both were in use. i was thoroughly rustled but someone left a 135lb barbell on the floor so i just did a few sets of RDL's while i waited for a squat rack, so wasn't a complete loss
cheeky
to be fair i got ~7 on the treadmill which isn't completely accurate. will start timing my runs at the local HS track come spring time. i do a fair amount of HIIT related stuff so hoping to increase my speed.♣BOSTON STRONG♣

So are kids just getting bigger and stronger these days? I'm not talking about the juiced ones. Are kids just getting naturally stronger? Because as I look around the gym I see some 16-21 yr olds that are just strong, and I'm not a hater, I'm not gonna accuse them of being juiced, I assume they are natty. But I remember in HS, there was only a few of us that could rep out 225 on the bench or could deadlift 5 plates. But I look around the gym today, a lot of the kids I see do that on a normal basis. Is it just the evolution of the generations? The more available knowledge of lifting? More people lifting in general? All of the above?

Yeah, hate people just hog machines. One time I had to wait for the benchpress cause an old guy was using it to stretch.
