Yeah, I've played around with the ones we have in the office. They're good out of the box, but great once you root them. I'm going to do that later today.
Yeah, I'm rooted and running the Cyanogen10 mod on mine.

Just iMovie on the MacBook bro. Good for basic editing, text, transitions, and music.
I think Audie is planning to go full force with his videos and use professional tools like Sony Vegas Pro. I don't want to spend more than five minutes editing my vids, so iMovie works great for that. Windows Movie Maker is the equivalent on Windoze.

I see. Don't think my laptop has MovieMaker. Btw, I got to call them for a return too.

See you listened to TK about that laptop. I told you which one to get bro.
Is the mouse pad thingy. The thing is not working right. And did I mention I hate Windows 8? I feel like a alien trying to figure out how to use Win 8.

Final Cut Pro is what I use unless I'm on one of the Dell's at work then it's Adobe Premiere Pro

Audie when it came to editing I like Final Cut Pro if on Mac. But if not I would use Avid. Avid is what they use in motion picture but I think they make an express version which is still pretty powerful.
I may not be there yet, but I am closer than I was yesterday!

I haven't bought anything yet, but I am leaning towards Sony Vegas Pro 11 (ebay) or the Vegas Pro 12 but that suite is still $500+ off Newegg.
This is for work so I can't torrent it.
Any other suggestions?
I use Premiere. Sony I heard was easier. Get the best graphic card you can afford, as much ram as you can afford, solid state primary drive will help. The HD rendering takes a lot of time If your system can't handle it; it will crash in the middle of your project and you will cry. Ask me how I know lol

I looked into Avid and their pro version is the same price as Adobe Master collection roughly around $2500. No can do on that. I'm not going to need a motion picture quality just something easy but creates great 2-8 mins. clips for youtube...Anything longer than that youtube community members will be bitchin as to how long the vid was.

Damn thanks for the tips Hanh...My system at home is fairly new built (I built it this past February). So I will be on the look out for best bang for the buck as far as stretching my work computer budget.. More likely I will just give a specs to the computer shop that my work uses.
