So I'm not a huge poster here, but I've always been an interested lurker in the 3+ years I've had an account.
Because I'm not a big poster I don't really understand the rep system.
Today I posted asking for a simple bf% est and received an 8000 point neg because
"you've been on this site 3 years and you just started lifting...negged"
As you can see that thoroughly destroyed my reputation. I don't even know where to begin getting back to green.
I only have 60 posts, none of which are off topic or rude. I think my Current reputation is a very unfair depiction of my contributions and attitude on this site.
What should I do? How can I get my rep back up? Feels bad man.

^^ I lol'ed
Breakdown of today
1) At one point my rep dove to like -9000 or so (uncalled for)
2) A few hours later and I'm at like +20000
3) ????????????
4) Profit!!!!
Seriously though thanks, I really appreciate everyone's help. I will be repping everyone back as soon as it will let me again (I guess you only have so many per day --I'm still getting the swing of the whole rep thing)

Yea got negged for some bull because I disagreed with a guy, he posted "negged" and had like 3 other douches do it for no reason. One wrote, "just for the hell of it". It'll happen bro. Just suck it up, keep quality posting and the reps will come
100% rep back if you post in same thread. (no reds and no grey reps)

I know that people are going to say that Im only saying this because Im in the red but ill say it anyway because its the truth: rep power on this site means absolutely nothing. I continually read the most ignorant things and look over to find that the poster has tons of rep points and on the other hand have read great advice coming from posters in the red. Try to to over worry about something as meaningless as rep points on this forum.
