things going dead ie: kindles going dead...cell phones dying...computers shutting off because the battery is dead. it's 2013...hasn't someone thought up yet a way to not have to use a charger every few hours to keep things going? it's just annoying. batteries should have a longer lifespan.../rant

This statement someone made on another forum I go on - "I have found that cutting milk and eggs from my diet makes it a lot easier to eat healthy."
When and why did eggs and dairy get a reputation of being generally unhealthy? I know some people are lactose intolerant and I have a friend who posted in FB that dairy is bad for your cardiovascular system but she's so full of bro science it's ridiculous so I blew it off. I even saw someone comment that Greek yogurt is a "dirty" food. I know clean versus dirty is highly relative but that was a first to me.
Maybe I'm just grouchy but these stupid misconceptions irritate me.Danielle xoxo

Somewhere I read that with a lot of commercially produced milk, the cows are milked constantly without much break and develop udder sores which puts puss in the milk...whether it gets filtered out or not, that grosses me out SO BAD. I haven't done any research on it since I don't drink a lot of milk (would prefer to chew my cals).
However, no one is taking my eggs from me.MFP: mkjbarreto

About 15 years ago a very wise friend told me something that's really stuck with me: "You can be happy with or without many things in life." I think when people start predicating their happiness in life on specific things (e.g. I can't be happy without kids, without a big house, the corner office, being a partner in the firm ...) they set themselves up for disappointment. If you can let go of a prescriptive notion of what happiness in life looks like and just live your life to the fullest you might be surprised at all the different forms which happiness can take.
Kind sounds like your sister-in-law has a very fixed idea of what happiness looks like and it might be holding her back from actually finding the real thing. But I think this is one of those things everyone kinda has to figure out on their own. Nothing you can really say that will make a difference.
