First of all, I should say it was a group thing, and as we know, when a group of young people puts their brains together, you are left with a combined IQ in the single digits
Well, first they took about 5 to 10 minutes and quite a few combined opinions to figure out where to put the bench. Then they couldn't get the bar in the right spot. Finally they ended up with the bar that could only go less than half way down before hitting the sides and they did quite a few sets like that. The whole thing took at least 20 minutes. The gym is huge, it has more benching stations than you can count, including incline and decline. And since it was a group of guys, they could even have used a regular bench, of which there's plenty, and spot each other. On the other hand, the gym has only one squat rack. The one they were fukking around with. Meh...

Walked outside this morning to 33 F temperature and discovered thick frost on my windshield. I live in California. You know those windshield scraper things? I don't even own one of those anymore (I had like 6 when I lived in MI). Feel free to laugh northern, east coast and Midwesterners. But my delicate california jimmies are slightly rustled.

Clearly I have fulfilled your request a number of times and the proof is evident and right in front of your face and yet you STILL act like it wasn't fulfilled. Arggg.

People suck. That seems to be my mantra in 2013. I think LBM and I have changed roles
This essay was reprinted for advice columnist Dear Abby:
WELCOME TO HOLLAND
by Emily Perl Kingsley
I am often asked to describe the experience of raising a child with a disability -- to try to help people who have not shared the unique experience to understand it, to imagine how it would feel. It's like this ...
When you're going to have a baby, it's like planning a fabulous vacation trip -- to Italy. You buy a bunch of guidebooks and make your wonderful plans. The Coliseum. Michelangelo's "David." The gondolas in Venice. You may learn some handy phrases in Italian. It's all very exciting.
After months of eager anticipation, the day finally arrives. You pack your bags and off you go. Several hours later, the plane lands. The flight attendant comes and says, "Welcome to Holland."
"Holland?!" you say. "What do you mean, Holland? I signed up for Italy! I'm supposed to be in Italy. All my life I've dreamed of going to Italy."
But there's been a change in the flight plan. They've landed in Holland and there you must stay.
The important thing is that they haven't taken you to a horrible, disgusting, filthy place full of pestilence, famine and disease. It's just a different place.
So you must go out and buy new guidebooks. You must learn a whole new language. And you will meet a whole new group of people you would never have met.
It's just a different place. It's slower-paced than Italy, less flashy than Italy. But after you've been there for a while and you catch your breath, you look around, and you begin to notice that Holland has windmills, Holland has tulips, Holland even has Rembrandts.
But everyone you know is busy coming and going from Italy, and they're all bragging about what a wonderful time they had there. And for the rest of your life, you will say, "Yes, that's where I was supposed to go. That's what I had planned."
And the pain of that will never, ever, ever go away, because the loss of that dream is a very significant loss.
But if you spend your life mourning the fact that you didn't get to Italy, you may never be free to enjoy the very special, the very lovely things about Holland.

I agree. In the past month 2 of my closest friends were in this same position. Except they were at 20 weeks pregnant. Both women are super low risk, but it still happens. The first friend had blood tests done and was told that she had a 1 in 12000 chance of having a baby with downs, and the second friend had to have an emergency level II ultrasound done and there was nothing wrong with her baby. When she was told that almost certainly her child had downs.
Mistakes happen. I hate the idea of anyone having to be in the position to choose based on tests that are so inconclusive. I feel for that OP.

Only read the first 2 pages...was actually surprised at the level of respect shown. Does it get worse after that?
Not bothered at being mistaken for the beautiful Sultana...just don't wanna cause any confusion.
Sorry, sweetie.
