If corporations controlled everything they wouldn't have elected Obama. Why would they? Being taxed more is bad for business, unless you consider Unions corporations which want to use tax dollars for benefits and pensions.
I'm not denying that corporations don't throw money at politicians to gain favor, but if they truly directed this country it wouldn't be headed to where it's going.
I think what directs this country right now is any entity with socialist type agendas, whether it be people, unions, etc.... Taking money from corporations and the "rich" and using it to give things to people who haven't earned it. That is what buys votes. People on disability, food stamps, gov pensions, health care etc... getting all this for free without even paying taxes themselves or at least contributing very little.

I agree. Every big business owner including the one I work for would not put a penny towards Obama's campaign. This begs the question. Who is and why? What is the benefit?

There is proof that this is true. Wall Street journal headline was Obama elected and stocks drop. Which means all those companies predictions on being able to grow and produce looks bleak just based on his re-election.

My company is as pro Obama as it could be. Our CEO actually told the company we should all vote for Obama. My guess is he's so rich (and I don't mean $250K a year rich, I mean "I have more money than I can think how to spend" rich) that he doesn't care how much he pays for taxes, he's still going to be too rich for his own good. Or maybe all his money comes from capital gain and he doesn't care what happens to income taxes. Or he has really god lawyers that help him take advantage of all loopholes. What do you mean real candidate? Mitt Romney had a lifetime of success building up businesses and handling budgets. His qualifications were perfect for getting the economy going and creating jobs.
He cares about people too, not just businesses. He donates more money to charity each year than Obama, Ryan, or Biden.

I saw this in a local paper and unfortunately it's not the first I've heard of it. I think many companies will be changing employee hours from 40 hrs to 30 hrs per week to pay for the new health care mandates. It's an interesting read and I wonder how often it will popup over the next year or so.
My company just takes it straight out of our paychecks to pay for it. So that's an alternative to the above situation. I don't think many people would be happy being forced to have $100 taken out of their paycheck either though.
Cliffs
Small companies can't provide health insurance for all their employees
There are now penalties for not providing health care for full time employees, so hours will be cut form 40 to 30 to get around this
Can't afford to jack up prices etc... to cover the costs to pay for healthcare, so it's either do this or go out of business.
Companies with more than 50 people have even greater penalties, so business will sold of or cut down to avoid these "larger business" penalties as well.
Long
"I had a difficult conversation with my restaurant managers this week.
I began by letting them know that they are free to support any candidate they want, and I acknowledged that they may have other reasons to support a different candidate. And I certainly wouldn’t take any action against them if they voted different than me.
I also admitted that I am not an expert on Obamacare, but I have read a great deal of the ACA, attended webinars and seminars, researched current publications, and sought counsel from my accountants and attorneys.
I wanted to let my managers know how a re-election of Obama would affect them directly.
I’d be remiss if Obama won, and then I surprised them with some bad news.
My premise is that if Obama is re-elected, then Obamacare is almost certainly going to stay in place.
So I would take immediate action to enable my company to survive.
I will go out of business if I have to absorb the insurance mandates or fines. My banks won’t let me simply skip their bank payments — the added costs would cause me to violate their debt coverage rules, so they could foreclose and shut me down.
And, I don’t believe that I can simply jack up my prices in this fragile economy.
So, if Obama wins:
I cannot afford to put 341 employees on this plan as will be required, so I must end it before 2013.
Immediately, managers would have to cut back hours of all employees who work over 30 hours a week. Fines are particularly harsh for “full-time” employees.
By the end of the year, managers would have to cut 10percent of the hours they schedule for employees. Employees will have to get the same amount of work done in less time. I need to cut my costs so that I can cover the insurance mandates without violating my loan covenants.
By the end of the year, we would reduce the size of monthly, quarterly and annual profit sharing bonuses to all managers and their assistants. Again, this is an effort to cut costs.
By 2014, 2/3 of my stores will be sold off. We must try to cut staff below 50 employees so that we can avoid the “large employer” penalties.
Many managers will lose their jobs as stores are sold.
There will be less ability to grow into career jobs with high wages.
I have spoken with several other business owners who are preparing for this same strategy. My managers and employees won’t gain much by leaving my employment, because they’ll find the same situation everywhere."

If some of the money goes to help those that need it, then I care and its fine. If the money goes to invade illegal wars and attack people we have absolutely no reason attacking and murdering, then I do not want them taking my money.
Its very simple for me. And to think Romney was talking about attacking Iran too, whats going to happen when we come back with our tails between our legs like we did in Vietnam. You attack enough countries and people the hammer comes down on you, what happened to the Germans Nazis?
Trillions of dollars wasted on wars, and what have we acheived, that is trillions, not billions, trillions that could have helped this country greatly, schools, social structure, infrastracture etc etc.

That has already been happening in my area for the past year or so. I live in a heavy industrial area where people used to work 60 hours per week, now most are 30 hours or less and hurting trying to make ends meet. The sad fact is that at 30 hours per week they make to much for any government assisstance, but still cannot pay their bills. My house has lost over 125,000 dollars in property value over the past four years because so many around me have been foreclosed on. The unemployment rate here is over 12 percent and will rise dramatically over the next term.
