Been thinking about making this thread for a while, but because it's such an unconventional method, I hesitated. but whatever, haters gone hate It's nice to be able to cut loose on the weekends after a hard week or training and dieting, it's good for the mind and soul. I'm just a guy who likes to party and bodybuild at the same time, so thats what I do.
Ever wake up after a good night of hard drinking and feel leaner, fuller and just like the way you look? Well, it may be because you are one of those people who burn more fat while your body is processing the alcohol.
Yes, it has been proven. I tested it this past 20 week contest prep, and I got leaner than I have ever been in my life. Lost no strength as far as weight I was moving, just a few reps on a few lifts, but that is to be expected with prolonged calorie restriction.
Got drunked every weekend, sometimes Friday and Saturday night, went camping for entire weekends, out of town, etc...have had the best spring/summer ever while in prep. These guys that say
oh "you have to be a hermit, eat sleep lift, etc" are really doingitwrong.jpg IMO. The purpose of life is to have fun and be happy.
How I did it
I'm not saying this is the ONLY way, this is just what I found worked for me. Eat right, hit your macros and train HEAVY all week. If you want to drink, cut the starchy carbs on Friday. Only eat fibrous veggies, protein and moderate fats while you have alchohol in your system. Keep in mind, depending on how MUCH you drink, it can stay in your system for a day or two, but I don't recommend get completely smashed hammered black out drunk, moderation is key here.
Once it's out of your system (should be Monday morning), start hitting regular macros and the gym with a fury. It's very important to tell yourself "DO NOT EAT THE PIZZA MY DRUNK FRIENDS ORDER", because believe me, it will be tempting, and then you will gain fat, I promise. It's not very complicated, I guess, but I will answer any questions you guys have about whay I did, if you want.
edit:I drank beer and whatever i wanted until progress slowed, then i swtiched to grain alchohol mixed with zero calorie mixers, then progress resumed

ummm..I don't think i ever cheated, with properly timed refeeds, you don't really feel the need
Yeah, thanks man, I thought about posting this in the contest prep section, but those guys seem like they don't like to party. i figured teh misc could make more use of it
the buzzes get better and better the leaner you get too no hangovers either. I'm pretty sure there is a correlation to fat and hangovers......imnoting

Exactly the way I feel (even though I'm not in a competition or anything I just do it to look good).
There is no reason to stop drinking, just don't black out and eat less during the day to fit it into your caloric intake for the day (lulz, serious). I usually have a last meal around 6pm that's relatively big, and then I don't eat anything and just drink and then before bed drink down a shake (which, actually helps with a hangover cause you get a bottle of water in you before bed time).
Success.
