    Radical Changes

First post here, only starting to get in shape.

Diet has been my main focus to date. Old me ate very little and mostly white bread, potato, crips, sugar, basically junk. At 5'10'' I was 140lbs and as I was informed 23% BF. My goal is to get BF down to around 15% and total weight up to around 165lbs, a nice slim lean look, swimmer style.

Current diet plan has double calorie intake right now around 2,900. Protein gone from close to nothing to 190g, Carbs cut in half to around 240g.

Anyone got any tips, the sheer amount of information on here is amazing.

Research research research! You can't know too much about nutrition.
I too am new to the forums, though I've been browsing the site for about a year. All I can say is good luck and don't get discouraged!

Thanks, spending a lot of time researching.

Typical old diet thursday would have been:

Breakfast: 2 croissants and a bottle of lucozade.
Lunch: Bowl of chips (lot of salt)
Afternoon snack: banana and cup of tea.
Dinner: Half pan of white bread with oxtail soup.
Supper: few packets of crisps, biscuits, some pita bread and pint of milk.

    New diet on a thursday:

Breakfast: glass of pure orange juice, chicken breast, slice of wholewheat toast and bowl of strawberries.
Snack: Hazelnuts, cheerios cereal and a protein shake.
Lunch: Salmon fillet and wholegran rice.
Afternoon snack: apple, banana, actimel yoghurt.
Dinner: wholewheat pasta, striploin steak, carrots and spinach.
Bed time snack: protein shake, dry roasted peanuts and small piece of dark chocolate.
    Also drinking 2litres of water.

New diet has 2,900 Calories, 197g Protein, 251g Carbs, 117g Fat, 29.5g Fibre, 7g Salt.
