Instead of the standard bulking and cutting can you just keep the same weight and still build muscle. I know when bulking you build muscle and gain fat and when cutting you lose fat but don't build muscle. My question is - what if you do neither?

that other member probably just slowly gained his mass never had a fattening phase. if you take it slow you can put on lean size but it takes like 5 days to get a pound of fat and almost a month to get a pound of lean muscle. (on average) i never just bulk and let my self get fat. i eat a ton but i also work out a ton.

when you start your acc on this site it talks about body fat and says how long it takes to form fat and lean muscle and lean muscle is a bit more than a week and more like 3... and i consider a lot of stuff fat that other people dont consider fat. just part of being a really lean person. ide rather weigh less than be a fat **** any day.

Is bulking really a must?
I have been training for 7 years now. When I first started out I 0tried several time to bulk but never succeeded... But that's probably why I'm an ectomorph. So after a year or so without gaining weight or even gaining much muscle I decided to just follow my program and add an extra meal everyday. And it actually worked for me. So I kept training like 5 days a week from monday to friday.. And I ate approx. 3600 calories a day... That's about 200 calories surplus that was recomended for my height and weight. I have a lean body with a bf% around 12. So but ofcourse when you are a hardgainer/ectomorph it is really hard to gain weight. But just try to eat around your recomended amount of calory intake everyday and keep training hard.. And you will eventually reach your goal
