    Pop Tarts PRE Workout?

72g of carbs. And maybe a shake. Would that been a good pre workout ?

Obviously a chicken breast, and brown rice would be better micronutrient wise but that is not what I'm asking.

If that is what you desire then by all means do it if it fits your macros.

Is it optimal? Not really. are there better alternatives? Yes.
Contrary to popular belief, I dont actually bench 900lbs, as stated in my username.

    Supplement Stack:
    -Orange Triad
    -CreaCore
    -MusclePharm Fish Oil
    -Caffeine Tablets

Nutritional ketosis requires explicit reduction of CHO intake to generally lower than 50 g/d and, for some, <30 g/d. Protein must also be restricted, often to <1.8 g/d per kg body mass and sometimes to < 1.2 g/d per kg, with remaining calories composed from fat.

Its a bunch of carbs to have energy in my workout... Maybe not sustainable energy over 2-3hr sessions but most of my workouts are under 1hr

Why not have oats or rice or even an apple?

But if it works for you then who am I to judge?

The answer to this, to me, is blatantly obvious. Pop tarts are FULL of sugar, therefor OP is looking for pre workout alternatives that have are full of sugar. Oats depends on the brand, apple is low in sugar, and rice ... doesn't have sugar I believe.

That would be a good post workout for the insulin spike. Preworkout: a shake or even chicken and rice.
