first and foremost i want to say that it is a terrible tragedy that happened to those people in Colorado. no one should have to go through such a horrible tragedy like that.

I've never ever had to call the police to come save me.

You see this is because I don't live in a country where every moron feels entitled to carry a firearm.

Edit- can you not realize that allowing guns do nothing but up the stakes of confrontation? Sure I've had confrontations with people before, but they never had a pistol tucked in their waistband therefore I've never had the need to carry a firearm. This isn't Afghanistan, it's an industrialized 1st world country. We don't need that kind of vigilante bull**** here.

carrying a concealed weapon is not vigilantism, it's self defense. do you think that taking martial arts and defending yourself in an unarmed situation is vigilantism? you've been lucky that you haven't had to call the police to defend yourself. not every body gets that lucky. You are mistaken if you think that concealed weapons holders are going to wave their gun around at the slightest provocation. I am personally going to try to diffuse the situation in any way possible and use my weapon as a last resort.

I don't know about Canada, but here in the United States, our criminals have no problem getting guns illegally and using them for whatever purposes they see fit.
