Well,,, had an MRI done last week on my persistently painful left shoulder and the doc told me today the "good news" - no tissue tears or repairable damage. The bad news is that the cause is likely advancing arthritis and that's really not operable.

freaking joints man.. it really is a double edged sword. like i have always said, too bad joints didnt work like muscles. those fckers just get worn down as we get older, especially if we are active

That's great news but I do believe I have elbow tendinitis now from years of heavy skull crushers Back when I was younger I would do 215-225 skullies for reps...Stupid move.
Any tricep work that involves overhead extensions will make me feel like my left elbow is about to pop out of the socket.

im currently trying to get my bb bench up and its going well. I realized that i am pretty strong on db, but my bb is pathetic and that is a BIG problem. so im going to focus on my bench for a while, and get that up because there is NO reason why i shouldnt be repping 225. once I get where i want to be, i will start switching them up with more of a 50/50 distribution. feels good to see my bb bench go up though. im chasing that 225 because it's long overdue.

My 13 year old had to have tubes. Not only did it improve her hearing but she hasn't had any ear infections since.

Joint supps actually help. I've got 'old soldier's knees' and notice a big difference when I take them regularly.

Nothing specific. Could have been an injury that seemed minor many years ago that caused misalignment of the AC joint or it just could be old age and wear and tear. He mentioned my weight training as a possible cause, but when I said that giving it up entirely wasn't an option, we talked about other things I could do to minimize the pain and impact.

It's a two edged sword, this working out thing. On the one hand it gives you greater health and usually longer life, but on the other hand it gives you more wear and tear on your joints and makes simple things painful at times (I can't sleep on my left side because the shoulder pain is that bad).

Not sure if serious. Popa Juan's pizza tastes nasty. Not sure how these guys would taste.

Macros are solid though a little too much sodium than I'd like to see.

Yeah buddy. Loss 23 lbs. 12 weeks into my cut diet. I stormed through 2 birthday parties, 2 Thanksgiving dinners, 1 company Christmas dinner lol

I still have 2 more Christmas dinners that I need to pass through then after that all will be back to normal. Easier since everyone will be in New Year's lose the weight resolution mode.

It's amazing how seriously some kids take these school rivalries. Kids at that age lack the ability to moderate their emotions a lot of the times. When I was teaching high school I can tell you that the weeks when we played our big rival in football or basketball were always weeks of fights, anxiety, and property destruction.

It's obvious based on the vid that was in a predominantly middle class/upper mid class neighborhood. If that was in a bigger city school aka the 'hood shots would more likely have been fired and a mob fight would have broken quickly.

Already there. I am dumbfounded by the parents who think their 9 year old's football season will lead to a scholarship at a D1 school. They take it that seriously. I'm glad Jack is only interested in football and martial arts. At this point the martial arts isn't competitive, and that's great. Too much emphasis, imo, on being the best and winning all the time, and not enough emphasis on having fun, making friends, and learning the skills associated with the sport. If kids like a sport, they will continue with it. Parents suck the joy out of so much for their kids, though.

I was at a pop-warner game this past weekend (9-11 year olds) and wow, it was intense.....The mothers were the loudest.

I decided that yesterday when I gave blood. The last two times I've given blood, a woman has done all the stuff for me. And they've both made me bleed all over the place and left me bruised and sore. Three times prior to that, all done by different men. No bleeding. No bruising. No soreness. I like men way better than women for these things.
