Decline bench day
This workout was just BLAH! I didn't come close to hitting the numbers I had set out to this workout. The first set of 240 was suppose to be 240x6 but just felt heavy and I didn't feel confident after the 4th rep and racked it. For those following you know I hate decline pressing. To me it doesn't feel natural and I just hate the movement. After talking with Wade today he put today' workout in perspective. Since i've been working with him I've had two bad decline bench days out of that time. I am setting PRs with my bench and my bench is feeling stronger, a lot stronger than it has been. Maybe the decline is paying off but I just gotta keep going forward with it and hope I learn to like it more.
Anyway enough of that and here's my workout.
Decline warm up
45x8, 95x5, 135x3, 185x1
Decline work sets
240x4, 230x6, 210x8
Barbell push press
155x3, 165x3, 180x2 WEIGHT PR *was going for 3 on the last set but called it.
Close grip cable row
160x3x12 reps
Lat pull down
140x3x8 reps
DB hammers
40x12, 40x8, 40x10
Seated DB rear laterals
10x2x15 reps
Death swings
30x30 reps *video to show you what these are. I call them death swings but they just kill your rear laterals, KILL!
