Before the meet I always pulled in briefs, but now I'm doing a raw phase. My hips used to hurt really bad after pulling raw sumo, but every week of this they feel a little bit better. I'm also working on my mobility, so getting stronger and more flexible seems to make everything alright. Whoda thunk it?
^^That'll definitely make the difference. I used to not be able to pull sumo at all without my hips feeling awful. fixed some mobility issues and now I kind of like it.

How'd you like the 1" paused bench? I've been thinking about adding that pause to all of my lighter sets

I like them a lot. It forces you to stay tight and concentrate. I haven't done them enough to see how much they help my bench, but I know I'm getting stronger.

Yeah man, I'm super happy with my progress. My best squat at the meet was 470, I'll triple that probably next week. I'm going to compete in May, and there is going to be a huge PR.
I went to bench today, did three sets and felt some soreness in my chest that I didn't like, so I cut it short. I did 3 sets of shoulder work, some upper back, and some bicep stuff instead. My training partner and I were messing around with a lot of grip implements so I was distracted and can't remember what I did.
So 470 was my best squat at the meet a month and a half ago, and to kill it for three today in just briefs was a great feeling. I am completely obliterated right now. Video below, I was really trying to get deeper than last week.
