You do realize Penn State might get the death penalty or some of the hardest sanctions ever given to a football program?

FWIW I think the death penalty is in order, but if this were OSU we were talking about and I was 17 years old again there would be no second thought in my mind about going there. Some people feel dedicated to their school through the good and the bad/want to be that one guy that is seen as bringing the school back to prominence.
Sad day for College Football as this is going to become a punch line for people that dont watch it and will associate anyone that does with Jerry Sandusky.

Favorite team, parents are alumni?
As others have said the unfortunate sh*t that went down doesn't really affect the current team but yeah, there's definitely a black mark against that program and anyone who knows the story hears Penn State and cringe.
Personally I'd rather go somewhere I can play without hearing about the tainted program/school. Tho money talks so if a kid gets a great deal and is told they can play early and their skillsets will give them an easy path to the NFL. You can look past it.
Get healthy, Get coached up and Win.

Just add beer!
It would be, in my eyes, very difficult to play when the "banter" you hear across the line categorizes you with this scandal.
That and Penn State players used to play for a Legacy, among other things--those kids never wanted to be the one to screw that up. I can imagine how motivating that could be on and off the field.
So was I once myself a swinger of birches,
And so I dream of going back to be.

There are scandals like this all over the place and believe Penn State isn't the only place this has happened. You gotta remember Joe was old and from a different time.
Still should have reported it to the police or had Sandusky taken out.

iron sharpens iron!
from what I have read, these kids do not consider that to be part of the school they are committed to, they just want to be part of the new new regime and move forward.
and Penn State isnt getting the death penalty, look at the big picture, who would be punished by dropping that upon the football program? absolutely no one who was involved.
Are you preparing your field for the rain?

I heard this point, a few coworkers grew up in the old school Italian neighborhoods and they were telling me how at the time you dont stick your nose in other people's business. If you heard a neighbor beating his wife, you didnt snitch. I certainly do not agree with it, but that was what Joe was raised in. At least society has progressed from that point in time.

Are you even serious with this?
There are more important things to try to make a bigger deal out of then me giving a synopsis of Sandusky without mentioning him by name.
you shouldn't feel guilty for mentioning that he's white until people feel guilty for creating thread titles with "urban youth" in them or posting 5 pages of "expected black men. left satisfied"

The Happy Iowan
The university's "culture" DIRECTLY contributed to the RAPE of little boys. It's fairly black and white...and you have to be a pretty sick MF'er to want to be a part of that

This is the worst scandal in NCAA history to take place on a college campus. Nothing of this magnitude has ever been brought to light before. Are you really trying to act like this whole incident is commonplace?

Not sure if srs.
An assistant coach is using his power as a head of a charity for dis-advantaged children to pick boys to have sex with, bringing them around campus facilities, having sex with these boys in facilities, and everyone knows but they decide to turn their head for 10 years.
Sorry, I highly doubt anything "similar" to that is happening anywhere else in the country.

Maybe you are too young to be familiar with the Catholic scandal and the numerous church scandals in the 90s and 00s. There are things even worse than what happened at Penn State that are going on. On a global scale the problem is pandemic.

No, its not a pandemic its called homosexuality.
These men in power who don't want to admit they're gay because of fear of how it would be perceived.

I dont believe child sex trafficking is an issue in the churches. At least not in the more developed countries.

Unaware, lay it out for me. Or are you saying because of the catholic church scandals notre dame was directly affected because of its affiliation?

LOL I have no clue WTF he's talking about bruh
His claims of things going on worse right now than at Penn State is open to the imagination if you believe its realistic. I literally cant imagine anything worse on a larger scale going on with widespread child molestation.
