I gotta have it easily holding 200+lbs. I've always used the one in my gym, but it'd be nice to have my own. Also good for when I go to other gyms/vacations or things like that. I also want a long chain b/c I first put it through the weights, then through the holes on the opposite side, then bring it over to its original position.
This was +180lbs from a year ago. I'm not sure on the brand, but it's never failed on me. Just a bland brown belt w/ chain.
Thanks.

Ive posted it multiple times and did a video review-NOTHING comes close to the Ironmind dip belt for strength and comfort and portability.

That strap has held up extremely well, actually.
Also, did you watch the video? It took less than 10 seconds for me to throw a plate on there and that was without me using a bench or kneeling.....I would say that is pretty dang fast. Would there be a need to add weight more quickly? Plus, if you use a loading pin, its a LITTLE bit quicker.
A few good reviews on amazon as well:

Guess one can master anything.
I have found this thread on IronMind belt quite informative,
http://sugdenbarbell.co.uk/forum/Dipping-Belts-6920
Some discussion on inconvenience of threading the strap and use of loading pin. And as portable and convenient solution - use of nylon daisy chains. I even went ahead and ordered one for myself. But than just opted for Roque, nothing beats the convenience of clipped chain.

????
I just read ALL the posts in that thread ( all 4 pages) twice and unless I completely missed it, it was ALL positive for the Ironmind dip belt and I didnt see a single gripe about threading the strap being inconvenient. I saw one person suggest to use daisy chains because they preferred it and then they began to talk about hip belt squats.
Also, it didnt take any practice for me to make quick changes with the weights using the strap on this belt (I almost never use the loading pin). And again, for me, if I am doing true weighted dips, there isnt a need to change the weight very quickly....but if there is, it only takes a few seconds.
Also, I promised a while back that I was going to show other uses for this belt, such as sled pulling. I havent gotten around to it, but I couldnt imagine a more comfortable sled pulling belt.[]---[] Equipment Crew Member #14

07-12-2012, 11:26 AM #13I would say get the daisy chains too, I have tried to put the belt through plates, its not the best, thats why I got the loading pin, but have just asked buzz to get me daisy chains
I've just found the idea of daisy chains use quite creative and potentially useful for IronMind belt users.
But seems like it works for you just fine as is, different strokes for different folks, I guess. Cheers.

Time for some bumpage to bring this thread into 2014...
What's the best dips belt these days? Also, if anyone here does weighted dips with an Ironmaster bench, let me know how you do it, since that adjustment track is right between your legs.USAPL RAW Competitor

Saw this http://www.amazon.com/Brute-Belt-Pul...dp/B00HMU1VNG/ looked interesting because it doubles as a crappy squat belt.
I like nylon belts without metal chains, just easier to shove in a small bag without making a mess in there. Personally use Ironmind super squat belt as a dipping belt, I set it up so both daisy chains are hooked together, hooked to belt on one side, then clip on another side, just like a metal chain dipping belt. Not like shown here http://www.ironmind-store.com/SUPER-...ductinfo/1220/ Normally one chain would be in the back, that's for squatting, which I don't do with it. Bought it when it was $80, can't recommend it at $150.
But I can recommend buying some other decent belt, let's say Rogue's and replacing the metal chain with nylon daisy chains if you're carrying it around. Ultimately a belt with a good metal chain is better because some plates can have sharp edges around the holes that will thread smoother around metal chains than cloth.
Belts that have little keychain clips http://www.amazon.com/Harbinger-3733...dp/B001LX1AOU/ are to be avoided. Saw one guy using one, not a pretty sight.-!!!---!!!- No Excuses Homemade Equipment Crew #24 -!!!---!!!-

I personally am still a firm believer in the IM belt. By far the most comfortable I've ever used. I either use a loading pin and 25s or daisy chain and carabiner. This is as fast and easy as anything, while still being practical. That eliminates the one disadvantage of this belt in my opinion.
The Spud, Rogue, and a variety of other belts are all quality, but there is a reason I've sold everything but the IM over the years.Last edited by jtaliani; 11-01-2014 at 03:34 PM.

I just made my own. a lil more expensive but the tow strap is 4 inches across and is rated to 23600 or 32000 pounds or something. pretty sure the chain is the weak link lol, works great with carabiners. decent for pullups too.

I'll check my weights, I don't think they're sharp, so webbing should be an option. Don't see myself spending $150 on an IM belt though.
Interesting. I'm not familiar with vests, just looked them up quickly and it doesn't look like they expand/adjust too much. Not to mention they aren't cheap. Good idea though!USAPL RAW Competitor

I did a detailed review on LPGMuscle dip belt a while back. It's rated for 450 lbs and can be had with plate and dumbbell holders. Have a look:

You could also use chains over the shoulder. Won't hang far enough to reach the testicular guillotine, but still allows additional weight. I suppose you could even use carabiners and daisy chains or similar straps to add small plates to the chain. May want to throw a towel over your shoulders for comfort.
