    StrongLifts 5x5 Barbell vs Dumbells

Currently I am doing StrongLifts 5x5 and my goal is weight loss. I've lost 65lbs since Jan 28th and still want/need to loose about another 65 maybe 85. Anyway I've been primarily dieting and working out here and there but I'm making a decision to be dedicated to my workout routine.

Anyway, I just got a Parabody 843 squat rack off CL, but I also have PowerBlocks 90lbs each. Originally I was just going to get the rack so I could do squats since the dumbbells weren't cutting it and I read that "real" squats with a barbell are better then dumbell squats anyway. My question is should I just stop using the powerblocks all together for StrongLifts and also do my bench, deadlifts and barbell rows in my squat rack with the barbell? Or should I keep using the powerblock dumbbells for rows, bench, overhead press and deadlifts? My goal is weight loss so is one better for losing fat?

Sorry if this is a dumb question, I know the stronglifts site says use the barbell for everything but I'd hate to have my powerblocks just sitting there collecting dust.. I guess once I loose the weight I can use them in a new routine? Not sure..

You can still use them but I would do most of the lifts with the bar.

It is, kinda, but that's okay. You see far dumber, all the damn time, around here.

Do that. It's a barbell program with good reason. Don't bother with SL if you're not going to at least stick to that.

Indeed. Or sell them and buy more plates...
