I've started doing 100 pushup every other day. I do 20, take a break, do another 20, take a break, until I've done 100. Will this help me build a big chest or should I just go to the gym and do chest presses. I want a big chest. I've been taking Amplified Creatine for about 1 or 2 years now. I also have micronized creatine but haven't used it for a while. If there are better creatines out there (prefer pill form) please list them. Thanks for reading!

Agreed with both replies.. I actually read somewhere(i forget where but it was recent) that pushups are sort of just to define your muscle and keep you where you are with your strength opposed to decreasing in strength or losing muscle.
I enjoy a nice butt on my face.

1. The creatine comment was obviously a joke.
2. Yes I look bad, which is why I am on bodybuilding.com and just started lifting.
3. You have no avi and joined two years ago, while I have an avi and joined just today. Are you too insecure to post a pic or can you not afford a camera?
4. You are a *******.

Tell this guy that pushups don't build a big chest. Herschel Walker only does calesthenics for workouts. Pushups, pullups, sit ups and lots of running.
This is him in his 40's, but he is also a genetic freak.

Push-ups are great if you can find a way to add weight on your back (using a backpack full of weight or having a training partner stand on your back or hold plates on your back etc).
If you can manage to keep adding weight so that your rep range remains the same as a usual bench press rep range I actually believe that push-ups are better than bench presses due to the fact that push-ups are closed-chain while bench press is open-chain, just like real pull-ups (CC) are better than lat pull-downs (OC).

i guess i'll throw my 2 cents in here...
Hershel walker (im sorry if i spelled that wrong) only does body-weight exercises and he is huge, so it is possible. i don't know exactly what he does as part of his routine, you can look it up if you want, but i know he does it, so i assume others can as well.I can all things through Christ, who strengthens me. -Philippians 4:13
