    How much fat can you lose a week?

    How much weight can you lose a week?

    I have heard that after you lose so much weight a week...it is no longer fat being lost but water weight and muscle....

    I read mostly 1-2lbs a week of fat is how much the body can lose only...Then I have read also some that say 3-4lbs is pushing it and anything after that is basically muscle and water weight....

    It depends entirly on the amount of fat you have. The fatter you are the easier it is for your body to mobalize fat increasing the amount of plasma tryglicerides which can in turn be used for energy.

    Agree with above. A morbidly obese 400 pounder can lose 30 pounds in a month and not have anything to worry about while someone at 10% bodyfat aiming for 8% bodyfat can only really lose a pound a week.

    Roughly 0.062 lbs of fat per pound of body fat per week.

    Based on max deficit for fat loss being around 31 calories per pound of body fat (f). Max deficit in a week = 7*31*f = 217 calorie deficit * f -> Fat loss from this is: 217 *f / 3500 = 0.062 * f.

    So if you were 200 lbs and 20% bf, you have 40 lbs of fat, you can lose roughly 2.48 lbs of fat per week.

    In addition to this, some of your loss will also be LBM that is -not- muscle (provided your protein intake is fine and you're lifting heavy) being removed now that it is no longer needed due to removal of fat, such as blood, connective tissues, etc. Your body doesn't break these down in the same manner as emptying fat stores, which is one of the reasons you have "whoosh" weeks where even though you've not changed your routine, your weight suddenly drops more than it has been, as your body breaks down excess LBM.

    yes, the plasma tryglicerides utilize the quadratic equation of the horse head nebula, while converting the worm hole of the prometheus cluster into roughly around 15,000,0,0000000,0,0,0,0,0000,0,0,0545467657r,00e, 67w45,6,63q,6 atomic celluloides.

    That -might- have been worth a chuckle had you posted it before the actual formula had been posted, now you're just another 20something brah looking like an idiot for making fun of something you don't understand.
