Don't get me wrong I have 3 pair of AE and 2 pair of Cole Haan's, I just didn't know anything about that brand in particular.

Not going to lie. Don't like any of them. Last one is passable but I don't like the chunky sole with that color shoe.

I like 1 and 2. 3 isn't my style, but it can work with other's style, so no problem there, either. Put some outfits together with them and post.

(disregard undershirt) The only pic i think it looks good in is w/the scarf. I dont really know how to make it work w/other outfits...Only ideas i have are w/some maroon chinos and a blue button up.
Or wear a grey hoodie on under it
I have a Land's End that looks somewhat like this. Most comfortable jacket I own. Light like a windbreaker, but comfortable down to the upper 20's. That said, they both have a sort of utilitarian look about them.

That's strange, too, because it looks like it'd be fairly simple to construct compared to other dresses I've seen. But, then again, I'm no expert on women's dresses or sewing, lol.

Here's the pattern pieces. I recognize that piece 8 is the skirt lining, but wtf @ the other pieces?

This is the front...the part I wanted to sew up so it doesn't show too much...but again wtf?

..and here is the skirt, comprised of 2 circles. Again wtf?

Now we know why these things cost thousands of dollars. ..................................

Hey guys, got a dilemma, starting at a brand new higher end restaurant this weekend, had to special order the specific shirts in at Marks Work Wearhouse, they were 55 each.
My issue is that i had to go with an xl, these are slim fit, i couldnt even move my arms in a medium or a large, but the body on the xl is still pretty big for a slim fit
If i were to get it tailored and taped in the body where would i go about doing this? how much should i be roughly paying? and how long do you think it would take?
gonna get one done first to see how it turns out

Make sure the shoulders fit and the sleeves fit. You can shorten the sleeves for about $5-10. Darting the shirt for the waist area should cost $12-18 a shirt.

the shoulders and sleeves fit, thats the reason that i had to get the Xl vs the medium or large. The shirt just seems to parachute out tho, when i tuck it in i think it looks like shiat

What are you bros opinions on buying some used AE's on ebay? I need some nicer shoes to wear and am currently in the process of updating my whole closet. Trying to clear out all the "college" clothes and start looking better. Up until recently I only had a pair of steve madden shoes and tons of sneakers. I picked up some odin chukkas because they were cheap and am thinking about grabbing some desert boots tonight. Should I just go to a store and try on some AE's to check size and then find some good used examples on ebay? It seems somewhat weird to me to buy used shoes but I could literally get two pair for the price of one? What's the verdict?

If you are going to pay that for darts might as well ask how much for a full taper where they remove the excess material.
I'm not a fan of darts anyways.

I used to think shirts were cut with too much cloth in the waist because of the obesity epidemic, and then I caught an old black & white t.v. show (Leave it To Beaver) on Antenna T.V. The character that played Wally (Tony Dow) was wearing loafers, beltless trousers, and a short sleeve button up. It looked really sharp, but the shirt had a lot of blousing, and it caught my attention - and Tony Dow was pretty athletic, too. Even back then shirts were cut like that, so that ended that theory. I don't know why shirt manufacturers have so much fabric there. Maybe it's less labor intensive to make a giant rectangle and add sleeves and a collar? Lol.

Do it. You could literally get 3 for the price of one or more. If you take your time and don't get into the frenzy of a bidding war and not have the mentality of "I MUST win this auction" you will eventually score some really nice pieces. You can even have them recrafted at AE.

True, very good point. I actually full taper, my tailor just tells me in Vietnamese what he's going to do and I pay for it. I forgot the distinction between both of them.

It's probably cheaper to mass produce shirts to fit the masses rather than the low percentage of the population that are in shape. You market to the majority. Majority is fat. If you work in an office like I do, the amount of out of shape and even obese people is disgusting. I live in CA too, I have heard how terrible it is in other states.

Anyone have an m65 jacket? I bought small from Alpha Industries and am hoping to get it tailored because it's pretty big. Do you think a tailor could tighten the sleeves and possibly take some material out of the back?
