Teaching the little ones to respect the rack

My little guy loves playing around in the rack.

I can't wait until he's old enough to train with me!

    Sorry about crappy Blackberry picture

And there was me, using the mirror for technique, when all along I had the perfect mirror for playing tug the slug. When used with my gym timer and squat box, I have the perfect podium for my speed-fapping antics, who knew.
This made me laugh, our 'single car 'Garr-idge's' are so small compared to the American garages!

Gym looks good mate, great gains after your injury!

Yeah I'm pretty used to the unnatainable gyms on here now. I've learnt to just accept it and be happy with what I've got.

Thanks mate, it felt so good. My legs are feeling it today, but the DOMS isnt too bad as I have been building up to it gradually. I have a few more weeks to go before I deload so I may be able to eek out another PR soon with a bit of luck. But I won't be mentioning that as it won't be another wheel just yet. Next step is to hit my next landmark for deadlifts, but that'll be a few months yet.

(reply email inbound tomorrow fella, just doing a lot of study at the moment)

I'm sorry but I have to ask this. With you guys that own racks and place them in the basement, how do you do overhead presses? Just seated? Because I can't imagine them doing them down there with that ceiling space; that was the main reason I placed my rack in the garage.

Love the pic!..my 15 year old has been training with me for about 4 years. This is the 1st year that I've let him train heavy(225 bench for reps/900+ on cybex leg press for reps). He has gone from a short pudgy kid to a lean 5'8" 195 pound athlete (and with size 14 feet...still growing). For a gym rat, there is nothing that compares to training with your son and seeing him growing bigger, stronger and to be more athletic...and then to see his face as each new football and wrestling season comes when he sees the benefits of all that hard work. I also have a 3 year old who loves to imitate his dad and big brother in the gym. He might end up being a bigger beast than his brother.

Congradulations on your sons bench, thats one of my own goals is to get to a two plate bench. A year ago I got serious with the home gym and training hard. I took basically 10 years off training before that and am happy as ever, and have decided with my son, and a daughter on the way that it is an investment in my family's future.

Yep. Got them from home depot, but haven't seen them there since. What doesn't work for that bar is muscle clamps.

You should be able to get them at any home improvement store.

They work for most lifts unless the barbell is being dropped
It surprises me how many people refuse to buy equipment from Elitefts because its too expensive but they will buy equipment from their competitors, then continue to go on EFS website to educate themselves for FREE

I've always known them as pony clamps if that helps.

Yup. Any of the large chain hardware stores, many of the small ones, and discount hardware places like Harbor Freight and Northern Tool ought to have them in stock and they're usually pretty cheap.
