Cheers broski.
I trust all is well with you? I haven't popped into your log since I was last on here. I suspect you're repping 200kg squats by now
My training has been sporadic these past few months. Yesterday I had no power in my back whatsoever. It felt really tight after the RDLs on Wednesday though so I reckon it was just fatigued as it feels fine today. I've got another 3 weeks to get my mojo back then I'm off to Tanzania with work for 6 weeks. Hopefully the hotel I'm staying in has a gym or I can find one in town.

Ha ... I wish! I'm going backwards ... I had a DL fail at 140kg yesterday
When I looked through your sessions though you managed to build up your strength quickly after your 2 weeks sick .... repping 80kg x 6 on the bench and pulling 160 x 5 and 160 x 4 .... I'd be so happy to get anywhere near that. I'd have thought your DL miss might just have been that your back was still fatigued after all the heavy RDLs"Better to wear out than rust out!"

I don't get how you can squat 165kg and then mind**** on it for deads a few days later. Perhaps you need to get some different numbering on your plates. Trick yourself into thinking it weighs less. Perhaps some blindfolded deadlift sessions with JP! I do usually pick my strength back up fairly quickly. Especially on bench and deads but I have really struggled with squatting over the past two months. I have ditched the belt as well for anything other than a max so that probably has put my squat numbers down.

Horry chit you're back and thats a big update The belt will have certainly brought your numbers down, being someone I am sure was actually using it correctly. You're still definitely making progress though. That 10kg jump for your rep sets was a pretty big one, going to go for 110kg next time?
I like that blindfold idea for fit!"Yea, though I farmer's walk through the valley of the shadow of deadlift, I will fear no repetition: for the power rack art with me; thy plate and thy barbell they comfort me."

A good week but **** knows what is going on with my right quad. It was a little tight on Monday and felt fine when deadlifting on Friday but the squats that day were a total nighmare! I'll have to see how it goes tomorrow.New Evolution shat on me

It's so easy to get a slight wobble driving out of the hole and just pull or strain something ... I suspect that that's what happened. Everything's looking good though Pat ... squats at 110, strong benching at 90, and beast volume on the deads and RDLs

No pre-stretching I'm afraid. I think cycling to work doesn't help though. Only one gym session in the past two weeks as (a) I have been feeling seriously fatigued and (b) I am going to Tanzania tomorrow for work and have had a **** load of stuff to sort out both at work and home. I will be there for 6 weeks so hopefully I can find a gym or the hotel gym is ok. I won't be logging while I am there as I can't imagine the internet access is that great in the arse end of nowhere! I'll try to get on here while I'm away to let you all know what the crack is.
Wish me luck, I don't want da aids!New Evolution shat on me

Good luck on the trip! Don't get sick .
Maybe look up one of the full body weight routines to do before you go?"Yea, though I farmer's walk through the valley of the shadow of deadlift, I will fear no repetition: for the power rack art with me; thy plate and thy barbell they comfort me."

I am back from Tanzania!
7 weeks of no training has taken it's toll on me. I have lost quite a lot of strength and an annoying amount of muscle but **** it I can get it all back once I get back in the gym which sure as hell isn't today considering I have been up for almost 37 hours now. I'm going to test my 7 week untrained 1RMs this weekend to see just how bad the damage is and then base my rise back to glory program of those numbers.
Hope all has been well with you people!New Evolution shat on me

So work has been hectic since I got back from East Africa and last night I did my first session in months. Everything was going fine if you discount the massive loss of strength until I got to the shrugs. 90kg felt medium heavy but on the 9th rep I did something weird with my neck and felt a sharp pain. I stopped for five minutes and the pain went so I (stupidly) thought **** it I'll do some arm work. Neck felt sore when I left the gym, got tighter and worse into the evening and this morning I was convinced I would never twist my neck again! Spoke to the doctor who said rest and ibuprofen as it sounds like what I think it is (a sprain). Hopefully it heals quickly! I was looking forward to deadlifts this weekend
On the plus side I have lost about 3kg of bodyweight in the past few months. Some muscle mass but mostly fat I think. My time in Africa with no vending machine available has broken my snacking throughout the day habits and I am now probably cutting out 500 bad calories a day just from that. I am going to focus on regaining muscle while hopefully not putting on anymore fat till Christmas then start chasing PRs after that.New Evolution shat on me
