    Research articles about nutrition

    Hey guys,

    Im trying to convience a friend of mine that a carb is a carb etc. And like 100 kcal from broccoli and chicken is the same as 100 kcal from pizza etc.

    Can you link me some good articles that proves this according to IIFYM :-)

    Will be very helpful since im tired of discussing this with him..

    Well a carb is carb for calorie reason but not for digestion, nutrient content

    www.leangains.com, articles on there all have alot of research & studies constantly referred to, but 100kcal from chicken is different to 100kcal of pizza.. but if the macronutrients are the same and the calories are the same then there is no difference to body compositition, whether it's doughnuts or cabbage.

    It depends on how you account for dietary fiber as to whether net bioavailable energy is the same or not., so the first thing you'd need to do is specify how you you're calculating caloric contributions of the types of CHO in the various foods, particularly soluble an insoluble fiber.
