    2013.01.28 Monday

Dave didn't make it after all on account of 13yr old daughter problems.
I was still aching pretty bad, not fully recovered.

    Squat: (high bar, deep)
    5,4,3 x 115kg

    Bench:
    5,4,3 x 95Kg

    Row:
    3 x 5 x 90Kg

    Seated shoulder machine press:
    2 x 10 x 20Kg plate per side
Great vid --- it looks like a lot of fun!
You might look 'skinny' in comparison to some of the 'big' guys, but I reckon you're looking jacked and lean. Arms, chest and shoulders are looking solid
Nice job on the squat and benching

    2013.01.30 Wednesday

Bad day, bad sleep, copped a load of crap at work, thought about putting it off until Thursday, probably should have, couldn't even see the "zone" from where I was.

    Squat:
    3 x 5 x 90Kg high bar, deep (active recovery)

    Military press:
    4,3,3 x 60Kg strict standing
    3 x 70Kg standing push press

    Deadlift:
5 x 140Kg (couldn't have gone heavier even if I had wanted to)

    Plasma TV hookups:
2 x 42Kg (mountings fell off the wall)

Actually about the same, I only logged my work weights before, not the way I ramped up, although I wouldnt do all 5 reps as I approached the top weight before. The difference now is I've decided to try a weekly progression program with lower volume at the top end. Recovery has been my biggest problem for a while, I know I'm capable of more when fresher. Started with a few weeks worth of deload.

Sadly it is right in my grip and hurts like hell from the pressure of something like this, not much I can do but try and ignore it. It was hard walking this weight with any sort of speed but it was ultimately the pain in my left hand that forced me to drop it.

No way could I hold nearly 100kg in each hand, even to stand still! Carrying those 15m, even with having to stop twice is awesome!
That grip strength must really help on things like your deadlifts and rows!

It helps, but my right hand is capable of much more than my left. I was messing with those gripper spring things the other day, not something I normally do, I can close a 250lb one with my right but only a 200lb one with my left.

Here's what my left palm looks like. I boosted the contrast a bit as skin tends to blend a bit in photos. The area highlighted is thickened fascia under the skin forming a painful lump near the knuckle. This thickening will slowly pull my fingers inwards like a claw. When they get to 30 degrees from normal extension the docs will operate and release it. Until then they tend not to as it frequently recurs. My father has this in both his hands and has had the operations, I first got this nearly ten years ago and so far have been lucky that it hasn't progressed much. I started out with hyperextensivity in both hands, ie. if I put my hands palm down on a flat surface I can raise my fingers upwards/backwards by about 30 degrees but the left one can no longer do this, my fingers now have "normal" range of motion.

^^^^^^^ that has to hurt when you're carrying the 100kg for the farmers walk. You're really lucky that the dupuytrens hasn't contracted further for 10 years, although I can almost see how a bad one on both hands could help you grip those damn Atlas stones

Props to Norwichgrad, studying his vids the other day got me a PB overhead lift with a movement I've only tried a couple of times before. Sometimes this forum is really awesome.

    Squat:
    5 x 55Kg
    5 x 70Kg

    5 x 82.5Kg

    Press (strict):
    5 x 35Kg
    5 x 42.5Kg
    5 x 47.5Kg
    5 x 55Kg

    Split jerk:
    3 x 60Kg
    1 x 70Kg
    1 x 75Kg
    1 x 80Kg
    1 x 85Kg Fuark yeah! PB smashed.

    Deadlift:
    5 x 102.5Kg
    5 x 122.5Kg
    5 x 142.5Kg
    5 x 162.5Kg (straps)

OK, readying myself for neg train.

I wasted an entire lunch hour today trying to find jeans that would fit.
Even through this bulk my waist is still sub 32inches. I don't think my legs are all that impressive compared to many on here and granted I'm not lean at the moment but boy is this annoying. I can either buy jeans I can get my legs into and have to hoik in 3-4 inches at the waist and put up with a saggy bum or I can get some to fit on the waist but be in danger of splitting the legs and starting to talk in a higher pitch. Even the "loose fit" levis at 32inches are skin tight on my thighs and too saggy at the waist.

    Fat bulking legs, semi-relaxed!

Keep trying different brands. I have the same issue.

I usually go for Lucky, Adriano Goldschmied (AG) or 7 (but not sure of the availability across the pond). They all have cuts that will most likely accomodate you.
Whats the measurement on those wheels?

Sadly I don't recognise any of those brands.
Never bothered to measure them thus far. Last summer they had some nice definition, now they are just blurred into a wall of muscle.

Nice lifting session ... that's a strong jerk and really strong deads. Legs are looking really solid in that pic and not at all fat! I'm mirin' the thickness in those quads, especially just over the knees --- that's a real 'overhang' and really big teardrop. Calves are good as well. The problem with jeans is a good one --- I have to cut about 8" off the legs of any jeans I buy

Hmm, I think the angle of the photo taken in the mirror might be helping the illusion a little there. Measured cold at the mid thigh level my legs are only 23inches and that's carrying almost as much fat as I'm comfortable with. Diet starts after the comp at the end of March.

    2013.02.15 Friday

    Squat:
    5 x 55Kg
    5 x 70Kg
    5 x 82.5Kg
    5 x 97.5Kg
    3 x 112.5Kg
    8 x 82.5Kg

    Bench:
    5 x 45Kg
    5 x 57.5Kg
    5 x 67.5Kg
    5 x 80Kg
    3 x 92.5Kg
    8 x 67.5Kg

    Row:
    5 x 45Kg
    5 x 55Kg
    5 x 65Kg
    5 x 77.5Kg
    3 x 90Kg
    8 x 65Kg

    Clean and jerk:
    1 x 65Kg
    1 x 70Kg
    1 x 75Kg
    1 x 80Kg
    1 x 80Kg didn't go higher, no bumpers, can't drop iron weights.

    Chin-ups:
    9, 8, 6 x BW
