As a good step between Minis and Lights lol. I think they'll be good for accessory work, stretching, and bench.

I have micro-minis, minis, lights, avgs, and strongs right now. Might as well complete the package.

So i did a full body/upper lower program for like a year then i switched to Strong lifts 5x5 adv. then Layne's Phat then back to the full body/upper lower.
Now i need a new program that i stick to for next year but i only want to work out for 3 days, but i only want to squat 2 days, but all the programs i see are 3x a weeks squatting. Can i take 1 day of squatting out from strong lifts? or am i missing a program that has 2x a week squatting? also the 4day programs like 5/3/1 is there 1 with 2x a week squatting? I cant find 1 that isn't just 1 compound lift a day.

    thx a bunch

Somewhat related. Just ordered my first bands, and just bought a collar for chains. I'm excited to start using em.

There's a reason most of them have you squatting 3x per week. It makes you stronger.
I'd either suck it up and do Madcows 5x5 or play around with 5/3/1.
I always squatted 2x per week on 5/3/1/, have your regular squat day. Then do a squat variation (or regular back squats again) on deadlift day. I typically worked in the 6-10 rep range.

yeah i was expecting something like that. I'll probably just suck it up and do Strong lifts 5x5 again but i am considering 5/3/1 with a added squat. Thanks for the input

    Just wondering:

    1. Why did you jump from full body to Stronglifts to PHAT to full body?
    2. Why do you only want to train 3x a week?
    3. Why do you only want to train squats 2x a week?

Seems like a lot of limits to put on yourself unless you have no choice cuz of other priorities like family, work and stuff.

    http://stronglifts.com/madcow-5x5-training-programs/

Talking about when it's time to move onto madcow.

SL has you doing 5x5 for the same weight.Which is why I never liked it or ran it.
Madcows has you ramping up to a top set of 5, which in my experience, is going to be much more than you could handle for 5 sets of 5.

So I'm placing my band order with Elite FTS. Gonna go with one of the sets since going over $40 makes it free shipping and a bit cheaper overall. Which set do you think is better?

    Long Band Set - $75
    (2) Strong
    (2) Average
    (2) Light
    (2) Mini Bands

    Mixed Set - $80
    -2 Pro Monster Mini bands
    -2 Pro Mini bands
    -2 Pro Micro bands
    -2 Pro Light bands
    -2 Pro Short Mini bands

I know Thom recommended monster minis as well for benching. Thinking I could add on 1 monster mini to the 1st set and it'd be $80. Or just go with the 2nd set if that is the better deal.

Last band question I swear! lol

I personally don't think you're gonna need strong bands, and they're a little pricey.

I pretty much have setup number two and have been able to do what I need. micros, minis, and monsters are the best IMO unless you're crazy strong. you can always double up the lighter bands to be more versatile.

i think right now you get free wrist straps w/ your order as well.

SL has you doing 5x5 for the same weight.Which is why I never liked it or ran it.
Madcows has you ramping up to a top set of 5, which in my experience, is going to be much more than you could handle for 5 sets of 5.

Lol put in 2013 by accident instead of 2014 for my credit card expiration so Elite told me it got declined and then I fixed it. Now I get a call from Bank of America that they detect unusual activity on my card. Stupid typo.

    3. In the full body work out i did in hs it was 2x doing 3x a week in strong lifts just was weird.

Seems like a lot of limits to put on yourself unless you have no choice cuz of other priorities like family, work and stuff.[/QUOTE]

You staying in west palm or you going elsewhere for college? I'm sure you can find people to train with or a coach that can come up with a specific program for you. Recommending a program to someone over the Internet without knowing anything about their lifting experience and how technically sound they are is quite difficult. That is why it is easy to just recommend "fawk up free" programs on here like SS, Madcows, and whatnot though some people still figure out ways to mess it up. Recommending something like Westside or some other program specific to each lifter is not a good idea unless the person has a good team/coach there with them when they lift.

Oh okay. My old coach actually just started teaching at FAU and he competes and is going to start a powerlifting team for the school. Stigisbig from these forums is also from the West Palm area and samsont is from the pompano beach area, you should try and lift with those guys sometime. It's always cool to meet some PLing section bros in person.

Alot of school gyms suck. But he is a professor and is going to do research related to strength training so he is going to get his own room with training equipment like he did at FSU. That way he can use the powerlifting team as his test subjects and get them to compete representing FAU.

Yeap, from Miami went to school in Tally and then moved out to Tulsa for a job.
